Just a quick comment about all the sirens going off: I hadn't thought of the last siren heard from Don & Megan's apartment being the same ambulance that Peggy & Abe are riding in; that's a great observation.

But given all the sirens heard out on the street in this ep and in previous ones (like the one where MLK is assassinated and Harlem is going up in flames), I was under the impression that Matthew Weiner was giving the audience a subliminal clue to the direction that New York City/Manhattan is heading in: the NYC of the 1970s.

 

I put season 4 on top as well.

What do you guys think is the best episode of the series so far? The season 3 finale is my favorite, followed closely by the season 1 finale.

 

I'd never be able to pick a top episode. Not only because there are so many good ones, but because I watched the first five seasons by marathoning tons of episodes in a row, so they all blur together.

 

The Jaguar one just made me cry. Which doesn't happen very often. That's my fav. so far.

Could be, but then it could just be there to make it look contemporary with the times. I just wish Don would give poor Megan the respect she deserves instead of sleeping with any woman other than Megan.

 

Yeah, I'm not sure the foreshadowing would be so blatant anyway.

 

Foreshadowing an event that happened in real life?

 

The fact that the theory exists at all basically disproves it. Do you really think Matthew Weiner, the most secretive showrunner of all time, would allow a massive twist like that to not only be given away through coded costuming, but have his costume designer come right out on Twitter and confirm the connection to the whole world? If Megan were actually going to get killed, there is no way we would ever get anything related to it confirmed.

 

Also, most people who weren't around in the 1960's don't seem to realize this but Tate was famous for other things (hence appearing in Esquire in the first place) before she was murdered by the Manson family.

 

That must've been some potent hashish.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if Don started popping whatever else was on offer once he decided to get high.

 

I have no idea whats going on in this show anymore.
