To be honest, I've never understood why people who have only been around for a few weeks want to be mods. You don't know the boards well enough to know whether or not you're going to stick around for a while - I'd say make sure you know the boards well before you start asking for power roles.

I would like to be a mod because I know what it's like to be constantly picked on and Mods protect people and make sure everyone knows and follows the rules and people don't pick on each other.
Plus they are nice and real friendly people and everyone looks up to them.

I would like to be a moderator. But I'm not sure if that will ever happen.

People who start threads on how to become a mod rarely become one.

    Tips for becoming a mod:

    1. Express no interest in becoming a mod.

    2. Repeat step one.

Reverse pshychology doesn't work. We'll take you seriously and won't even bother considering you. Best not to bring it up at all.

Actually, I posted in several threads that I didn't want the colors. And I was serious about it.

Are you using a force choke? Or a choke collar?

Wouldn't you like to know. :p

Actually, I was considering using my hand and forcing you up against the nearest tree-trunk. Slower, but more classic.

I don't think anyone cares if you do or do not want to become a mod. Please stop wasting my bandwidth.

    Dear Administration,

Please make all newbie-mod-wannabe's moderators. Let them deal with spam. Let them edit pornographic images. Let them decide how long to ban a user for. Let them figure out how to be fair. Let them take valuable hours away from posting messages to perform their moderating duties. Let them never look at a thread the same again; every thread now has potential abuse. Let them decide when to lock a thread. Let them decide when to reopen a thread. Let them deal with all the complaints. Let them try to be just and fair.

Then let them see how hard it is to really be a good mod.

    Sincerely,

    A User

PS. Let's hope reverse psychology works.

    Maek me a mod please!!!1!!

Until a person becomes a mod, they don't really understand how tough it can be at times. I still love it and that's why I do it. But there's a great deal of work that goes into it that is never seen.

Wait, so if a user makes a random statement that he/she would like to be amod (not directed toward the Administration), he/she is automatically disqualified? Im not sure I understand.

Yes. Before we promote someone we search throught heir posts and search for the words, "make, me, a, mod" and if they come up, the person is automatically disqualified.

Depends on how much you do it. If you are persistant enough, they'll have to make you a mod just to shut you up.

Keep in mind there is a thin line between mod and ban.
