Making homemade lightsaber look less taky?

    I made my saber today, it looks like what it is, a plastic pipe with some tape around it! how can I make it look less taky?

    Use metal, not plastic.

    use pvc pipe,, and put more than one coat of paint on it.

    - I don't think mine look taky, you just need to work at them.
