Yeah, I hate articles that basically have the premise of "despite the fact the prequels suck, here are some good parts about them" that masquerade themselves as pro prequel articles. Those kinds of articles can just go away as far as I am concerned.

The IGN article is basically, "We think the Prequels suck, but hey, we like these parts!"

@Catina barman: The same article was posted literally three posts before you.

Anyway, here's a piece on Jar Jar from The Cantina Cast.

Well not a link, but in digging up old term papers, I completely forgot I used Prequel Anakin Skywalker in an English term paper 10 years ago; compared him to Faustus and Oedipus Rex. :)

Hope to use other films I enjoy in future term papers too.

Neat article! Star Wars fever is back. [face_dancing]

This paragraph, however, is quite revealing and surprised me:

Many of the parents considering the name Anakin write that they have little or no attachment to Star Wars. “I really love the sound of the name, but I’m not a huge Star Wars movie buff… Is Anakin a little too starwarsy?” asks a community member on Net Mums. “I’m not a huge Star Wars fan I just really love the name and always wanted to name my son that if I ever had one,” writes a Baby Center user. “This name stays with me and just feels right,” writes an expectant parent on Nameberry, who admits to being “a little hesitant” because of the Star Wars connection. Some community members express horror that parents would consider naming their child after a character who turns evil; others respond with a virtual shrug.

    Fascinating stuff! Sociologically speaking.

The name existed way before SW as well so people assuming and judging on that alone are jumping the gun.

I can honestly say I have never known anyone, nor heard of anyone, named Anakin outside of Star Wars in my 30 years of life.

Not sure how reliable babynamespedia is, but here's this:

I believe you but I am nearly 33 and been studying names for over half that and I have seen the original form before. :) What I mean by this is age isn't likely the factor on whether one has seen the name outside SW or not.

    The Star Wars Hater

    Also I watched this earlier,

Now he doesn't like TPM much, but he does like ROTS. Anyway he talks about how the PT reviews parallel the OT's reviews. That it's a generation thing and of course nostalgia. He also calls the PT smarter than the OT.

A lot of PT hate stems from, "George didn't give mew what I was expecting."

I really hope thst people keep their hype trains at a decent level in December.

Anakin's a really cool name. I would love to have it, but I probably wouldn't name my kid it. I think all the Anakin fangirls are growing older and having babies, so maybe that's a cause of the name's popularity spike?

I'm SO glad this thread exists.THANK YOU

It's starting to seem to me the nearer we get to TFA the more journalists seem to think its hip to bash the prequels. And it seems to be with even more vitriol than I remember ten years ago. It's starting to REALLY get under my skin.

Sure the prequels have their problems they're nowhere NEAR as bad as people seem to be acting like they are. I see article after article where the writer cant mention info about TFA without throwing in a jab at the prequels. ("disappointing" "too much CGI") blah blah blah, we know. Opinion registered already.

Also a little tired of JJ coming out to the fanboys and going "ahem....PRACTICAL EFFECTS!" and all the fanboys tripping over each other to line up to kiss his butt.

I think it's a little insulting, the whole "we went to a REAL desert" tagline.

I'd love to hear what the cast and crew of the PT think of that line and video overall.

    This is Madness Podcast

They're new and it's their very first episode. Anyway, they talk about Pegg, which trilogy they like. Two of them say the PT. Also they talk about who should play young Han.

Watch Ep VIII advertise itself as "a return to CGI" at this rate

Any campaign, no matter how seemingly effective, gets tiring after a while
