Man beaten up for spoiling TFA to fans waiting in line to enter theater

A man exiting a showing of TFA shouted out a major spoiler to a line of people waiting to go in. Three people (who were dressed as Chewbacca, Boba and a stormtrooper) attacked him and gave him a bad beatdown. He was taken to the hospital, but the cops didn't arrest anyone and said it was justifiable.

Wow, physical violence over that? Some people need to reassess their priorities in life.

 

This is why I had earphones and listened to music while in line and earplugs when I sat in the theater. I imagined seeing a news story like this, and considering how obnoxious that guy was, it serves him right. It's a priority to me. If someone would have intentionally spoiled it for me I would have wanted nothing but the worst to happen to that person.

 

"Nothing but the worst"? For spoilers? I can understand being upset or angry, but to want (or even worse cause) physical harm to come to someone for that seems rather insane.

 

How can people get so angry to beat someone over a movie?

I think they should have been arrested. Isn't that assault? Especially if they went to the hospital.

 

To be honest, if I was one of the people in the line, I would have done the same.

 

Yeah, I was thinking someone just socked him for it and the guy learned a lesson about antagonising people that day... not that they actually beat him to the point he's in the ICU. That's completely not okay. How sad that people did that to another human being.

 

I would've forced choked the guy. Then not be able to remember the movie, because I would still be in shock to have learned I have force powers

I think it's more a case of an inconsiderate idiot deliberately putting himself in a position where he'll get hurt. Once this fool has recovered in hospital, he should be charged with trying to incite a riot.

 

Some Star Wars fans take things too seriously. It's just a movie. I understand that they're angry but beating someone to the point they had to be hospitalized is downright wrong. Those savages deserve some sort of consequence.

If the story is true, then the guy didn't deserve to be hospitalized. OTOH, my sympathy is limited by the fact that he was deliberately going out of his way to offend people.

When I went to the theater I just went straight to movie because they have the early previews for 30 minutes before the movie.

I was actually surprised that I was not spoiled.

 

I hope the guy doesn't have serious injuries and that he recovers soon.

However what he did was a bit of a **** thing to do, and like Sarge says my sympathy wains a bit when I think of little old ladies getting beaten half to death for her purse while innocently walking down the street.

If I was there though I would have done my best to stop the fight. Violence is never the answer.

 

He was a **** for that no doubt. Getting a puch to the face for it might be justifiable, getting your *** beat over it, nahhhh, that's too much for a movie that might not affect you when 8 comes out.

 

He should have kept his mouth shut tbh he was asking for it, however those people must be ******* psycho to beat someone over a movie .

I honestly would probably laugh about it in retrospect knowing that I was beat by a bunch of nerds dressed as Star Wars characters tbh....

 

I mean they defiantly did not deserved to get beat up over it. Like come on it's a movie!

Nah that can't be him. He looks like a friendly guy. I would totally trust him with my kids if they were having a pre school at the Jedi Temple.....oh, right...
