Well considering someone made a post about Mandalorians and was told to take it here, it seemed prudent to dig this one up.

I mean it's a better use of time then making a new thread.

I wonder if, since Vizsla controlled a presumably united Mandalore at some point around 1000 years ago, a canon version of the pre-KOTOR Mandalorian War will have happened then.

It seems like the Vizsla house has always been a big influence on Mandalore.

And that Hosie Vizsla is divided in some form or shape; we know Death Watch split after Pre Vizsla's death, and it sounds like we're going to get confirmation it still is, what with Sabine's mother having only reluctantly joined Saxon's faction and Bo-Katan due to make an appearance. It'd be interesting to find out if all of Mandalore's Great Houses are currently fractured; Vizsla and Kryze both come pre-broken, and thus might unite under the Darksaber, but it may be that those two clans were so prominent in TCW and Rebels because they were the only two to mostly survive the Great Clan War.

Who knows? Maybe the Great Clan War will be revealed to involve the fall of the House of Mereel or something.

We only know for certain of House Viszla, House Kryze, and Clan Wren, which is subservient to the former. It seems likely that the other last names we know of, like Almec, Merrick, Kast, and Saxon, belong to other Clans, but Houses? Still relatively unexplored.

Where do you guys see Mandalore going during the films. Their complete absence from the OT makes it seem unlikely any hypothetical Mandalorian Rebellion ever joined the Alliance proper, even though that seems to be the basis for Sabine's new plot. Do you guys think they were cordoned off and mostly just siphoned significant resources away from the hunt for the Alliance? In the background of the OT but not on screen? Or still restrained enough that they didn't really get active until after Endor?

I don't see the Mandalorians making much of an entry in the movies yet, at least not the main trilogy. Too much to explain still, and besides, to show them properly would really distract from the main plot and characters.

I think Sabine doesn't become Mand'alor, but gains enough influence to somewhat determine who does. After that, Mandalore probably isn't really united until post ROTJ, and likely becomes isolationist.

That's what I'm thinking, too. If a Mandalorian Rebellion Cell gets active, it either has to be small enough you could finesse it into the background of stuff like Endor ("There was a small wing of Fang Fighters screening an escort ship"), emphasize how they're primarily focused on terrestrial combat ("Mandalroian Clanmemebers were held in reserve on a sanctuary planet, as their particular skill set was not suited for the Battle of Endor"), or limit their field of operations to the Mandalorian Sector ("One of the few Rebellion Cells to never truly integrate into the Alliance, dealing mostly with Admiral Takel and Warlord Zsinj until after Endor").

Right now, the best time for showing Mandalorians in the GCW is in Rebels or in Post-Endor media. However, considering Sabine's age, I could see her showing up with a Mandalorian contingent in the ST.

Mandalore hasn't been directly mentioned or talked about or shown ONCE in any of the films that I can recall.

Which makes me doubt that it would play much (if any) role in the film plots going forward. The only way I see that MAYBE happening is if one of the major character (Rey would be the most likely if they went this route) had a connection to it.

I could potentially see it popping up in an anthology film at some point though.

Personally, I think your could put Mandalorians in the ST as part of the Resistance/Republic forces, but mostly as just one part of a massive and diverse fighting force; I really want to see the Furst Order have to tangle with a numerically superior if under armed Resistance, since I really don't like the idea of just copying the OT. Just show some Mandos alongside the Corellians, Twi-leks, Outer Rim colonists, and Core World aristocrats in VIII gathering under Poe and Leia, then show some Fang fighters in the motley assortment fleet for the major battle in IX, maybe showing some Mandos or Satine in the background as well.

It'd be a shame OT develope an entire planet and culture across two tv series, establish they're power players in those series, and then just ignore them to show more OT battles.

Isn't the Mandalorians mostly known to non nerds/general audience as bad guys? If say in episode 8 the general audience see guys "dressed like Boba & Jango" helping the Resistance/NR, the GA may be like, "wouldn't they help the Order instead?"

It's not that hard to explain. Just say that not all Mandalorians are the same. Or, and as much as I don't like this change, they could always drop the "well Jango and Bobba weren't actually Mandalorians anyway."

Or, just write in a reason for them to ally with the heroes. It wouldn't even take a long time, a few lines of dialogue would do the trick.

I tell ya the Mandalorians have lost their HONOR when they cowardly chose to serve the DAMN EMPIRE[face_frustrated] instead of supporting Sabine![face_sigh]And they say she was the coward?...They were the REAL COWARDS!!!

Just a note from the Propaganda book about your prediction; the book mentions that the New Republic controls a much smaller territory than the Old Republic or the Empire. An isolationist Mandalore, or at least an autonomous one that rejects outside authority would make sense considering the way the Republic/Empire impacted it, and the way that some Mandalorian factions (Bo-Katana's Resistance) view the Galaxy as a whole. Though, if Sabine has a seat of power in some form or another, Mandalore might still be a New Republic ally, and I'd find it hard to believe they'd stay out if a war where one side is a remnant of their old oppressors and is perfectly willing to murder a star system without warning.

This has been a very informative thread thanks to Trebor Sabreon & Vorax & a few other posters here too. Where are you Fandalorians now that we're finally going to see Mandalore in SWRebels in a couple more weeks?

That's absurd. No such power exists in this world. This Necromancer is nothing more than a mortal man. A conjurer dabbling in black magic.
