    Like I said, great job on the colors, FettFan! :D

    To anyone who's interested, the original sketch was done by Kuk-Man (DarthKuk over here) in a series of other Mando sketches that came to life to some sort of a fanfic art request of mine. I digged that sketch of the swordsman, and told him it would work for one of my OCs, so he finalized the drawing and came up with this:

    http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/7255/gladustitepencilssmallkv7.jpg

    You can make out the changes, like broader build, different helmet, another sword-scabbard on the back and some other little details. While Kuk's first sketch represented just a random Mando swordsman, the newer version was the Mandalorian Gladus Tite, an assassin and swordmaster, who is an OC in my fanfic stories.

    I then inked the drawing and put digital colors on it:

    I just posted this to give you an idea how one sketch can be approached in various ways, and to compare FettFan's and my version. They look totally different in every way, but still share the same basic sketch. :D

    Thanks for the comps Corran!
    Hey yeah! I like seeing both of them in the same place to compare. Seeing the different methods used to color and how we each pictured the figure :) There is just something about that pose and that figure that is just SO cool!

    I do have another drawing! This is from Star Wars, but only in EU I believe. Well, she is supposed to represent a native of Aruza, mentioned in the Bounty Hunter Wars (Manaroo, Dengar's S.O. was from Aruza). I didn't look up much on the species, so I just drew what I thought they might look like. This particular one is Evera Iberron, one of my characters in an online rpg. She is an artist ;) thus the paintbrushes in hand as I wasn't quite sure how to convey her artistic nature in the drawing at the time.

    Her face is a bit small and was hard to detail and she appears to be a bit stretched out, but those are about the only apprehensions I have with this one. Maybe her feet, too and the left half of her skirt... LOL oh yes, now I'm finding more! lol

    (Okay, I can't get the image tools to work for me for some reason. I wonder if something is wrong with photobucket, it hasn't been working for me like it used to at forums.)

    Sorry it's been a long while. My grandfather passed away on the 12th and I've been busy helping my mom go through items in their house (my grandmother died back in 2005 so now it's empty). He had been in a nursing home, so I was spending a lot of time over there seeing him before that.

    I'm slowly getting back to forums and such, and I have started another space-theme drawing, but it might be a while before I get it up here. I look forward to viewing more stuff here!

    Condolences to you and your family on the passing of your grandfather--how sad! It's a difficult thing, but time does heal this kind of grief--in the meantime, lots of warm thoughts and prayers are with you all.

    Your character piece is wonderful! Great costuming, and I love her hair (it reminds me of irridescent feathers, almost...). Beautiful palette, too (blues are my favorites! ;) )--I likey!

    Hope you can get back to your art soon--it's a great way to help quiet the mind, which can also be very healing. **nodding** Take care, and again--sympathy for your loss.

    Thank you, FF! Things are getting back to a bit of normality.

    I just drew this yesterday--saw the image in the latest Insider and it inspired me to try. These guys looked like they would be simple to draw, and they are fairly easy, but this is just a sketch to get to know the structure and color. I don't plan to finish this particular one, but rather create a full-body figure later on.

    aha--got it figured out!

    Here's the other space-themed pic I mentioned in an earlier post:

    I'll try to get to some other threads here soon and see what all everyone has been up to!

    I colored this quite quickly and I don't think it turned out as well as I could have made it. This is on tracing paper as I have the drawing on sketchbook paper, but I changed Jango's helmet to go with one of our themes in the challenge this month...hehe I drew this using the still frame from AOTC. That still was much darker in the foreground--the colors and details weren't as visible in the reference, so I drew in what I thought was needed.
    I know this is a somber image for Boba and not supposed to be funny at all, but everytime I thought of Halloween mixed with Star Wars, this image came to mind and a perfect substitute for the helmet is...

    [image=http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e144/starwars79/hwboba.jpg]

    ...a Jack-O-Lantern!
    Halloween for young Boba. He went back to an empty arena that first Halloween following Jango's untimely death to create a special jack-o-lantern. (Yeah, it sounds corny, I know.):p All pumpkins look the same to him now...
    I did try to make the pumpkin's stem look like the antenna/range finder of Jango's helmet.

    Your color is great, and I think the pumpkin idea is wonderful as well. Keep up the good work! =D=

    Hey FettFan79!!!

    Your space art NICE! I envy you a lot for having this "cosmic touch" with stars, planets and stellar dust - it's not given to everyone I can tell ya :D

    And this Halloween piece is very cute... What used to be a dramatic scene became something funny and unexpected... Poor Jango! :p

    Thanks guys!

    The space-ability just kinda popped up one day. I have always loved the stars/space, so I really want to capture just what I see, including the lovely colors and imagery captured by astrophotographers. The smooth, swirling colored (mostly from filters from my understanding) cosmo elements simply fascinate me. I would actually love to be able to capture that in paintings some day.

    I understand what you mean by "smooth and swirly", it's very hard to make with traditional ways as painting or color pencils... There are many Photoshop tutorials you can find for that: http://www.solarvoyager.com/tutorials.asp

    As for painting, I tried with acrylics which was a lot of fun, actually :) I scanned it but it's not showing properly and the photo is bad because of the lighting (scanning, photo). But I think you should totally try it out! Acrylics are easy to play around with, and since it's like plastic you can add layer over layer with lots of water for that "smooth and swirly" effect. I had to use 3 layers of black paint and lots of different shadings for the blue tones.And the stars were.... difficult :p

    Keep up the good work with your magic color pencils :D

    Thanks Corran!

    Deanna--great pic! Thanks for the hints and I think if I play with them, I hope to get something like that too! I'm also supposed to get an airbrush setup this Christmas, so I know I can do some neat things with that too, hopefully try out acrylics with that too.

    UPDATE:
    I have my Challenge picture done...

    [image=http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e144/starwars79/borskf2.jpg]

    Borsk Fey'lya. I used a reference pic, but I did like the coat/tunic that was on him, so I kept that design, but changed colors and I added a background. All Prismacolors/graphite on sketchbook paper. I think he looks like a cross between a humanoid camel and a kangaroo... *shrug* lol Maybe a little wombat in there too.

    :p

    You did him so amazingly that he looks more way more than simply a cross between a humanoid camel and a kangaroo.... He looks like a real person with a strong issue in politics. Well done! Fine piece of art!

    Thank you!
    Thinking back, I might have taken a different approach to the background and I can see where I need to add some shading, but not too bad for 1.5 hours' work ;)

    Thank you! I like the rich color from Prismas ;)

    Here's a Revan WIP that I actually started working on last December:

    [image=http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e144/starwars79/revanwip1.jpg]

    Using my Revan action figure as reference. Prismacolors and graphite in my sketchbook. I left the mask image at the left there for now to show how I was working on the mask features and angles. I hadn't posted this here yet, so I wanted to get it up. I was trying to go for the details I could see under the cape a bit, but will probably cover his shoulders with cape anyway.

    Thank you! It's going to be a challenge since it's all black. [face_thinking]

    On a side note: I had the lovely experience of a broken toe last night--going to be about 6 weeks to heal. Big toe of my right foot. Don't realize how much we depend on toes for walking and balance until you're down one (big toe anyway) LOL This did not happen during TKD class, but on the way, mere FEET from class. I tripped in a hole in the city parking lot.

    Okay, here's Revan, though I'm going to add a background pronto with a comp to get it submitted for the challenge.

    [image=http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e144/starwars79/revan3.jpg]

    And here he is with a fast background made with Micorsoft Publish It! 2002...gives him a contemplative look with a starry background, and it turned out to seem as though a moon is shining on him.
