Mara Jade Fan Club

It's true, LFL can't please everyone, but I think Mara and Luke need more positive recognition than they've been getting. I would like to see them fighting together, that hasn't happened much in NJO so far. Plus H&L are getting a lot of attention and I think Luke and Mara should have some too. That's why I agree with the thread MJ Frondo mentioned, Han had his book, Anakin had his and so did Leia and Jacen, if NJO books are going to start focusing in on certin characters then I think it more than fair to focus on Luke and Mara as well. They are both extremely interesting characters that people enjoy, the should be represented as well.

 

I agree, Mara should talk to Luke, more than hint about him getting back into action. If Anakin hadn't acted as rashly as he did then the students might have been captured. Luke should realize that he has a serious problem when his 16 year old nephew has to do the job he should already have done. Luke is responsible for the acadamy and his oversight put his students in too much danger to be passed off as "everything turned out fine, so it's ok". Sure Anakin may have saved the day but it was close, too close to risk it again.

Luke's pacifast actions have held the Jedi back but now he's endangered CHILDREN by failing to act for HIMSELF he can't afford to take the backseat any more, he has to stand up for himself and for the Jedi, they need him, his wife needs him, his son will need and they'll need him to be strong. This is no time for Luke to sit back and meditate, it's time for him to act! Plain and simple

Does anyone know if Marie will come back, or is she still angry? I liked her.

 

JS, Sure I'm happy if you decide to become a regular member just like me and Tallie and Hope.I dunno about Marie,yes I like her too,she's very nice! And I hope she'll comeback as a regular again,but some wounds needs time to heal I think. Why it's so empty here??? I wonder??

Now let me see, the first time that I heard about the title ?NEW JEDI ORDER? I really thought it focused more or less only about the Jedi and their adventures,living etc. And I was exciting about it to know some other Jedi than the ones we already knew. The NJO we knew indeed focused more on the Solo family,and not of members of the New Jedi Order and Han as a non Jedi has a big part in it,more than Mara ever had. Yes she had a big part in BP,but that was it. A disappointing for all those who have read VOTF. I don?t understand why the H&L fans complain. H&L were in most every Bantam book,and they are being very active in it. They are together for a long time, and have a happy family and able to getting 3 healthy children. In the meantime Luke always had problems to get a normal love life. Not to speak about Mara!

Some of you are members/senators/ministers in the EU Senate. There is new legislation being proposed that could make the EUS actually function. Fancy that. I am calling on all members to cast their vote.

Fire_Ice_Death, Chancellor of the EUS, has voiced concern about it, but I feel he will read my explanations and rethink his stance. Or he won't. I'm not going to lose sleep.

Anyway, please show your support or contradictory stance towards it.

Programming glitch. My programs are now back on line at full operational capabilities.

Good thing they are redoing the cover of Rebirth. Luke Skywalker looked like the living dead on the cover. Hopefully they make him look much better. At least not dead.

Oh I'd love to see a book that has a main focus on L&M.

Though I dont' see how Luke has been too pacifist in the invasion against the Vong. Exactly what action can he take to singlehandedly stop the Vong? Maybe they can't be stopped, not even by all the Jedi combined together. Maybe they are coming and will take over and nothing anyone can do will make any difference. And he has been involved in trying to stop them.

I dont' care what the name of the Skycrawler is but I want it to be original, Star Warsy and rolls off the tongue like Leia Organa or Lando or Han Solo. Also do you think they might get a nanny? I think that would be cool/good for L&M.

I will be around, but I'm very busy now. I've become involoved on the Yahoo board and a Yahoo Mara/Luke fanfic group. Today I agreed to be a beta for someone's fanfic here at the JC. Oh, and it's the end of the semester which means lots of papers and tests. Sorry, I didn't mean to complain, just explaining why I've been neglectful as of late.

I was lurking earlier but didn't have time to post. I had an intricate response to the Mara/Luke romance petition topic. Let's see if I can remember it. I'm not going to post there for several reasons

1) The last two books have had a very nice QUALITY of Luke and Mara scenes. The quantity may not be as high as we'd like, but I'd much rather see it done well but rarely than frequently and poorly.

2) Protesting about the absense/presence of a few characters makes it sound like you can't enjoy a book unless they are the main characters. Now, I agree with Hope that I don't think Luke, Mara, Leia and co. should be portrayed as over the hill and totally incompetant, but I think it's okay if others see action. Even if that means they get the focus of an entire book. (Of course I still want to see a Luke and Mara book. But I can enjoy books that aren't that.)

3) I'm still sort of boycotting the Lit forum, so I wouldn't post there even if I did want to sign the petition. Maybe that's juvenile of me, but at this point I don't care.

I have lots of thoughts about Luke's current philosophical stance, but I think I'll save them for a time when I'm more awake.

Unfortunately MJFrodo, all my info was in my programming. It is all lost and will require weeks of web search to recover it all. My program will keep watch for any Mara Jade, Luke Skywalker links though.

Mara Jade Skywalker should watch after her own child. I have seen how resentful young Jaina Solo is to her mother. Her mother was usually busy and not there for her. Not true always, but a large chunk of the time. So I can understand where it comes from and how it could develop if the child of Jade Skywalker is raised by someone else. The child also requires an original name. My program does not compute one at the moment though.

MORE MARA AND LUKE IN THE NJO!!!!!!

 

One point about Mara and Luke in the NJO. GirlJedi made a good point,Luke did something,asking Talon to help the Jedi, that?s true, but I?d wish to see Mara and luke acting more like Luke and Leia in the Trawn Trilogie! Why look leia was very pregnant,but as well very active involved in the Trawn trilogie,despite her pregnancy. Or look Leia in the comic Dark Empire, she was pregnant there too, but always there to save the galaxy. What I want to say is,why not Mara given the same role as Leia in the NJO?.Even in Conquest she only have a part in chapter two,having a nice conversation with Luke,but that? s all people.Well if someone would make a petition to LFL about this topic, I?d sign.

Have read a chapter more out of Conquest,I think I like it to see new and other charactere like Kam and Talon being more involved in the storyline,even with the Solo children. But I?d love to see Luke and Mara more in the New Jedi Order too. They are JediMasters,but like Tallie I guess that we see more of them in Rebirth defending the Jedi and the people they are responsible to.

 

Agreed Luke and Mara should raised their own child alone ,but I thought they cann?t cause they could be too busy at all. I think that always one of the parents will be with the child,but R2-D2 could help them cleaning their home. Buy food for the baby and cooking for example for the family, change the diapers !!!

As for posting in Lit and other threads in EU Community,I'll try to support the Mara fans more.

Hi everyone! Glad to see Marie visited. I agree that Mara should raise her own child, and I think she will. If Mara thinks she'll just send the Skycrawler off, Jaina might object. We all know how she felt towards Leia in BP, and I don't think she'd want her cousin to feel the same.

 

That's a good idea,JS I'm sure Jaina,Jacen and Anakin would be fond of the little Skycrawler Hopefully the war getting over soon.I'm getting mad if another Skywalker would be raised in time of war,most of his youth.
