Mara Jade/ Luke Skywalker Valentine comic cancelled, something else in its place?

My Valentine's day will be happier, because Luke's will be happier without a Luke/Mara Valentine special.

 

It's too bad they canceled the Luke/Mara Valentine comic.

Maybe they're planing on making an Anakin/Padmé one instead?

Beat me to it. The moment Rostini mentioned "Del Rey", I was thinking "Luke/Mara Valentine's Day short story written by Zahn".

 

No, I wanted the Luke/Mara Valentine comic. Despite what neysayers say, I kinda like them together. Wish they weren't married to each other, however. Why does everyone in NJO have to be married? I am not big on marriage. Think it is overrated.

 

I reckon they threw that Corphelion Interlude together, because fans were remembering the way Solo treated Leia in the early NJO, and wanted to show something otherwise?

Luke and Mara's gushing lines in the NJO only annoyed me due to their close similarity inherent in all books. It was too bland, too simple.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw something from Luke/Mara's honeymoon, instead of from the NJO. Perhaps some humorous stuff with Luke and Mara quarreling about petty stuff, showing a bit of Mara's personality, and Luke wondering what he's gotten himself into.

Mabey coz Valentine is a character in an OSC book and they don't want to have a cross genre love triangle between to Jedi Masters and a spacefaring essayist...

In the original Thrawn Trilogy (and pretty much any Zahn book/story she appears in), yes. Hence why I'd want a Del Rey Valentine's Day story with Luke/Mara to be written by Zahn.

 

Perhap's this year's Valentines comic didn't do all that well and they don't want another Valentines stinker. Maybe we'll get another online freebie. Hopefully for some other holiday though. Valentines Day is greatly over rated.

From what little I knew about this Valentine comic, it wasn't set in stone, so to speak. I don't think they even had a storyline planned.
