What academygrad said. Also, they met in the first book of the Thrawn Trilogy, Heir to the Empire, and were tentative friends by the end of the trilogy in The Last Command. Ten GFFA years later, they start to realize their feelings for each other in Specter of the Past and get engaged at the end of Vision of the Future.

Cousin. Luke's son was named Ben Skywalker. Which in this world translates to "Son of Skywalker" if you know the original meaning of the name Ben (Hebrew IIRC).
