Still, I definitely wouldn't have guessed they'd make it to the Elite Eight at the beginning of the season.

Also, I can't stand Calipari... but Kentucky was the lesser of two evils today. Just like I can't stand UConn, but on Saturday they'll be the lesser of two evils.

Speaking of Calipari... this is the third time he's made his first Final Four

 

Speaking as a resident Carolina fan, I'm still here, but you folks should know better than to expect me here while they're playing. I'm usually too busy working up an ulcer to post anything during a Tar Heel game.

That said, the result of this game wasn't entirely unexpected. I definitely wouldn't have guessed they were an Elite Eight team at the beginning of the season, either, DMC... so I'm generally pretty thrilled with however the hell they did it this year.

At least they didn't get embarrassed off the court in the Sweet Sixteen. I mean, not that that happened this year to anyone in particular, but you know, that would be embarrassing if it happened.

 

Yeah, and I think it'd be almost as bad if said team themselves embarrassed another team out of the conference tournament championship. I mean, I'm not mentioning any names or anything, but theoretically speaking, that'd be very bad, no matter how well the conference loser did in the NCAA Tournament if they lost the conference finale by double digits to none other than their arch-rival or something.

 

You're right, Rew. It would be almost as bad... but not quite as bad.

I can't wait until ESPN2 digs up the Butler alum, who married a VCU grad, went to grad school at Kentucky and has his son in school at UConn who managed to get the final four 100% correct.

 

I think I saw something on ESPN earlier that 2 people had the final four right... crazy as that seems.

 

Is the title game next Monday or Tuesday?

I don't know about that. Jim "YouCon" Calhoun is just as bad as far as I'm concerned.

 

I don't like him or UConn at all... but I like Calipari even less.

 

It goes without saying that I'll be rooting for UConn. I don't care how bad their coach is, Calipari is scum.

Wow, I totally forgot the game was starting this early. Mountain time strikes me as a negative this time.

Edit: Butler up 6 at the break. And, are we sure Brad Stevens isn't a student at Butler?
