hey guys, i wouldn't normally start a thread like this but i think this is a fun project that could maybe appeal to a wide range of musical interests. also it took four years to complete, so i'm trying to get the word out as much as possible. basically, my friend and mark and i thought it would be a fun idea to do a hip hop version of the white album. four years later, it did turn out to be a lot of fun but also way more work than we bargained for. but now it's done and here it is! you can play or download the whole album here. or if that's too much to take in all at once (30 songs is a lot), disc 1 and disc 2 are also available separately. and if you absolutely have to give us some money you can buy the album (or download for free) from bandcamp as well. anyway, i hope people like it. if you do and you could share it on your facebooks, your twitters, your reddits, you would forever be my hero.
Wow, that is one impressive project! Congratulations on finishing it. I've checked out a couple of tracks so far, and it sounds like you guys have done a really awesome job.
I've been enjoying the tracks you've posted on fb. Definitely looking forward to hearing the whole thing. Thanks for all the music you've shared with us.
Still making my way through the first disc, but this is awesome. Really creative concept too- great work, tom (and mark).
tom i listened to like half of it earlier and was hella impressed. will get to the next half at the next available opportunity.
hey, thanks a lot everyone. and to the people who actually paid money for the record. i really wasn't expecting that at all. wow.
Eh, with a few exceptions, I'm not a fan of hip hop at all. Still, I love the White Album, and think this was a cool venture. It's one thing to hear yet another cover of a Beatles song, but you guys seem to have took their stuff and made a really unique take on it, going way beyond covering, and even updating the songs to better fit current trends in music and society. Major props.
