ST Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) in Episode VII

by time filming starts he'll have been working out for 9 months. He'll be good to go.

 

Got a very Ozai feel with Mark in that video, even though he's dressed like a Jedi.

 

We are of course assuming he is in the movie.

But he's done the part before, he can do it again.

 

If Hamill does return (which I think is pretty likely), I see no reason to assume his acting talent won't be as good as it was back in ROTJ. I'm sure he'll put in his best effort. I'm guessing I'll like Hamill's acting in the ST just as much as I did the OT.

 

...I make of it that filming's still months away, and while Hamill's probably free to joke with interviewers about stuff within reason (as Ford's been doing), he's probably under strict orders to not let on even to guys like Sam that it's official yet. And as the writer noted, it may not have been Abrams who contacted him, so what he said was true...from a certain any point of view!

 

You can say that again!

There's much that I'm excited about, but at this point, the return of Mark as Luke tops the list by a wide margin (I mean, gee, I've only been waiting to see it happen for, oh, three decades now).

And they better not kill him off, either. At least not until Episode IX (and even then, I'd rather he pass on what he can and then just walk away from the galactic scene and live a peaceful existence).

 

If Mark doesn't want to do it, they could always get Jack Nicholson...

The thought of Nicholson of having any sort of role in a Star Wars film fills my mind with happy/giddy thoughts.

This could make me walk out of episode 7.

Okay not walk out but I wouldn't be happy.

 

Nope.

Given the amount of time between ROTJ and Episode 7, asking if Mark's still got it is a legitimate question.

I personally think he'll do fine, but I do have some ever so slight reservations.

 

As long as they get him in decent shape im fine with him, Not like he was the most brilliant actor ever before anyways.

 

He is the most brilliant voice actor, however.

 

I agree get him in shape and get the guy in there. I think I would be pretty pissed if Mark Hamill wasn't in the movie in some form or another.

 

Regarding Sam Jackson's recent comments, the man doesn't know jack about Episode 7.

 

Hamill may not have been the best actor when they shot the first movie, but he really grew his chops even before TESB where he had the unenviable task of shooting half the movie with a puppet. By the time he got around to ROTJ he was pretty amazing, and considering the amount of acting and fantastic voice work he's done since then there's really nothing to worry about. As others have said, out of the three primary OT actors, he's the one I'm the least concerned about.

 

Having seen Criminal Minds' last season finale, I must say he did a terrific job portraying the criminal mastermind of the whole season. I wish they'd given him more screen time instead of just secretive flashbacks throughout the episodes. When he was on air, he was incredibly menacing.

 

This is all im worried about.

 

They will most certainly have slimmed down by the time shooting starts, and I don't think anybody is going to try to get Carrie back into that metal bikini again anyway.

 

He's done some good acting work over the years but just not in big movies , they might play it safe though & have Luke in the movie for about 10 minutes so not to tax Mark to much........
