While a 3 second came would be pretty bad it would hardly destroy the franchise. Lots of fans werent even alive when the OT was released.
And I would rather leave "god tier I can do anything the writer wants me to do" characters in Dragon Ball where I can safely disregard them. Pretty powerful is more than enough.

 

its not speculation. KK literally said it was a continuation of the Skywalker Saga. If you can't take her word as fact there is nothing else more convincing to show you. Logic would dictate that if it is a continuation of the Skywalker saga than at least one of the new cast members is a descendent of Anakin. It could be just Kylo Ren, or could be just Rey. It could be both. Maybe they are really throwing us off and it is Poe.

Judging from everything revealed so far, I think Snoke and Luke have roughly the same amount of screen time, with both characters fulfilling similar roles, but on opposite sides of the Force. Luke obviously on the light side and guiding Rey (even though she may not be aware of it), and Snoke obviously on the dark side and guiding Kylo Ren.

You DO realize that TFA is part of a NEW TRILOGY right? Rogue One is the standalone film...not this one. People pissed that Luke isn't in this movie a lot are, how should I say, morons who don't know what patience is if it crawled up their @$$es.

If he was shooting for 6 months, then where the hell is he in all of the official scenes that have been shown? There's almost nothing in official pictures, including behind the scenes shots that show everyone else. How could any rational person think Mark shot for 6 months?

 

For the same reason Obi-Wan didn't stop Luke's aunt and uncle from getting burnt to crisps by stormtroopers lol. To give Luke/Rey a motive to accept her destiny. BOOM!!!

 

theres a peculiar cycle this thread continues to go in, around and around on the topic of Luke and whether or not he is a father. no one (here) knows. it wont be given til we see the film. fair? (i am however in the Solo camp, which, for crying out loud, ALSO means a Skywalker....)

now with that new trailer im interested because Snoke is seemingly very close with Kylo and has 'tested' him before, but nothing to the extent of which is going to happen in TFA or in the sequels. is he referencing Luke? or is he referring to Rey/Finn? i think hes referring to the force awakening, which would suggest Rey (maybe Finn too), but it could also mean that Luke hasnt been present or sensed for quite some time. "it is time", is intriguing as well, which would suggest to me the hunt for Rey, at least from trailers, thats what i pull from it (scene with sabre up against Rey's throat, the woods scene too, with Finn). i think someone mentioned that the roles of Luke and Snoke will be similar in terms of guiding a younger individual in the respected ways of the force (dark and light), i think this to be true, and also screen time imo. Snoke may very well get more lines however, we've already heard a few (counter to Luke which i think was just recycled lines from the OT?). this could be setting up an amazing confrontation between Luke and Snoke, not necessarily in TFA, but that will be where the foreshadowing comes in. whether or not Kylo is Luke's son would also be a huge thing, at least for me. i think that would add so much to the films going forward, especially with the Snoke/Luke dynamic and what seems to be a pretty close bond between Snoke and Kylo... at least from whats been given (which i know isnt much). that, coupled with my own opinion on the Rey front (solo), would just add immense tension and personal battles to the Saga. Snoke vs Luke- a battle of father figure vs lineage. Rey vs Kylo - a battle of cousin vs cousin (with the spice of Rey being under Luke's guidance). idk if itll happen, but it seems a good way to go for me. just spit ballin'

Destroying or finding Luke is definitely a possiblity for that too.
