As a fan of The Ohio State University, I'll have to disagree with Mark on who has the best marching band

I think JJ said it best when he said they were keeping their powder dry and wanted the audience asking questions and being surprised. Keeping the powder dry implies having a bullet and shot to take.

 

I still think about Mark Hamill 2nd billing in the poster and Luke only with a very small role, but are we sure that Mark Hamill only plays Luke Skywalker? Could he play a double role?

 

I'm pretty sure Mark only plays Luke.
In two weeks we get our answers, I'm not going to break my head over Luke's role anymore.
The fact is, we (us fans) can't change anything about it, we have to accept his fate in that Galaxy far far away.

I also remember that before the dream ended I was in the cinema again, which was only half full

This will be me when I walk out of the theater after I've seen Mark as Luke Skywalker again.

Mark HAS to be just Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. Giving him two roles would be so strange, unless he does some robot or alien voice, uncredited, just for fun, but I really doubt that. I mean, it would be like Harrison Ford playing Dr. Jones as well as some minor character in the next Indiana Jones movie. Why?

 

I wouldn't put it past J.J. to do that, especially if it's a voice for someone else's mo-capped character. As many others have astutely said the film probably is about Luke and the quest to find him.

I wouldn't mind a double role though, Hamill could do that easily.

 

yep, since he already voiced Darth Bane in TCW. And I think it would make Mark happy too.

 

I think Hamill is plenty happy enough. I get people want more Luke than what the spoilers suggest. But this sense of Hamill being screwed over or hard done by has got to stop. Firstly, it just isn't true. Secondly, nobody put a blaster to his head to sign that contract.

Indeed. If he did, I bet we'll all be wondering just who he was.

BTW, speaking of his villainous voice work; if you haven't seen it, Mark was the voice of Nightmare in The Doctor Strange episode "Strange" for Disney's Ultimate Spiderman cartoon. He sounded like he was having a blast.

(2:13 obviously fx on his voice but you can hear him in that...)

 

Yeah still don't like the rumored backstory/story for Luke. This is the one thing that continues to give me great trepidation for this movie. I will be there on opening night hoping JJ has an ace up his sleeve but I am resigned to the fact that this is true. I hope it doesn't deprive me off the ability to like this movie.
