I've lost count of how many times I've heard people call Lloyd and Christenson "Luke".

Wait, so you're telling me that Luke and Anakin aren't the same person? I thought it was just a nickname. Kind of like how Darth Vader's nickname is the Emperor

So I guess I'm the only one who gets confused between Mace Windu and Salacious B. Crumb

Of course. There are plenty moviegoers of ALL ages that don't pay much attention to plotting.

And yet little Ani was still given the same golden hair as Luke regardless.

The point was that somebody earlier was seriously arguing that Luke's facial hair, or lack thereof, would be determined by a multi-billion dollar company's fear that some children might mistake old Luke for old Obi Wan.

    I mean, really...

Voice acting doesn't = in front of the camera acting.

They are voice actors instead of......actors, generally for a reason.

And then there are the talented individuals that can do both, such as Mark. I recommend Sushi Girl for those ADULTS that like a gritty movie, it really shows Mark's ability to transform into the character as he did with the Joker, except in front of a camera.

Except, as pointed out, Hamill hasn't done much in front of the camera acting in a while.

I don't think he is a bad actor, I have no reason to believe he'll be bad in the ST, but I also think saying he anything other then average is overrating him as an actor. Being able to do a great Joke voice doesn't = great actor.

I've seen him give a few great performances and while he has had some terrible roles in terrible movies, I have never seen him give a terrible performance that brought down an otherwise decent film.

Except, as pointed out, Hamill HAS done recent acting in front of a camera.

Sushi Girl is from 2012. Great perfomrnace.
Season finale of Criminal Minds in 2013. Great performance.
    Minkow in 2011. Great performance.

Juat because YOU haven't seen him in front of the camera doesn't mean he wasn't.

Losing the weight is part of the battle -- maintaining the loss is the second. Due to health reasons I lost 50lbs in about 18 months and have maintained the loss now for about 18 months. I weigh myself about once a week and have tried to keep to my lifestyle changes of eating -- that's really the hard part IMO.

I saw Sushi Girl because of Mark and yes he plays a gritty character but he does it scarily well. Also for a low budget look film -- the story has a wild wrap explanation at the end. It's worthing seeing once.

Lol, a multibillion company is exactly one to care about those details. You're a fool if you think the marketing department isn't giving very specific and detailed suggestions for the characters. And they care a lot more about kids than about suckers like you or me.

It's funny because I often read "Darth Vader's Empire" or "Darth Vader's Death Star". In fact it happens very frequently in non-geek newspapers.

That's deliciously rich coming from you.

Could you do me a favor? Would you please quote the post where I ever, even once, said that Disney or Lucasfilms had no interest in "specific and detailed suggestions for the characters"?

    Thanks.

You were acting as if it wasn't important to tell two characters from each other, when it is in fact pretty elementary. Luke and Obi-Wan look very similar with this type of beard. All the photoshopped pictures prove that at least.

And I didn't want to call you a fool, just emphasize that the marketing department also has an important voice in the process. If they think that Luke should wear a beard (or not), it will probably happen how they say.

Yeah, he does have 2 more SW films to make after this;) Combined with the fact that exposure from the ST will most likely open up some more live action supporting role possibilities I'd tend to agree.

How do we know that he'd be in two other SW films? Maybe he dies in this one and doesn't come back as a force ghost?

Maybe, and maybe he comes back as an elephant. Based on GL's descriptions of what the ST would involve, combined with the story structure already established, as well as the marketing opportunity of the franchise player Luke Skywalker, I'd say I'm pretty sure that he'll be in all 3.

I also often hear references to Palpatine being a member of the Sith race.
