ST Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) in Episode VII

I don't think anybody expected the entire movie to be about Luke and the chopping off limbs part came from a Making rumor anyways.
most expected at worst a small role for Luke but not a cameo.

 

Somewhere, at this very moment, JJ Abrams is laughing ....


..... not about any of this, he doesn't know or care about any of this ...

 

I figured a larger role than the current rumours suggest, but I figured Luke would die in TFA, so if this gives us a more interesting role for Luke across the trilogy, I'll consider it a success in the end.

 

It is not strange. They repeat. The same story. To destroy the shield generator. In episode 7. This has been explored in episode 6. I believe. The castle of evil. It is the home of Vader. And Luke can is there.

 

Maker knows his ears have not stopped ringing for weeks now.

 

They should go all in with the rhyming and use a puppet to portray Luke in Episode VIII.

I agree with those who say that many didn't think that Luke would be the center of the entire movie. I don't mind only a little Luke, especially if it's setting up Episode 8, but to be relegated to a cameo would be a bit heart breaking seeing as it's Episode 7 and not just a whole new set of movies that don't continue the story.

That is quite possibly one of the scariest things I've ever seen.

 

I prefer not having him here to tell people their speculation is wrong because it conflicts with his latest rumor. For example:

I never thought of it that way...I am oddly comforted by that idea. Makes me excited for the whole trilogy, as opposed to just TFA...

I just hope the plot buildup of "Ep. VII The Search For Skywalker" leads to a good payoff, where we maybe see Luke do some great things in the climax-not just "stop by" for a brief appearance and...we have to wait another 2 years.

Still-I'm looking forward to the quest...

 

I will say this and I hope I don't get banned for this. Luke is no longer a cameo. His lightsaber has a cameo as a sound effect off screen at Rose's pub.

 

Well, logic suggested that we should anticipate that Luke would be in a kind of Yoda role in episode VII, but that doesn't seem to be happening, so forgive us if we're skeptical that we will ever see Luke in this role, especially since they have apparently created a brand new Jedi master in Rose, who can easily play that part instead of Luke.

 

Luke force evaporated!

 

So why will they have Luke show up at the of 7 then? So he can never be seen again?

Stop projecting your own negativity onto everything. If you saw a picture of a happy rainbow, you'd tell us it was an arterial spurt.

 

Summarizing the rumoured stuff it sounds like they are heading into the Luke = monk lifestyle routine. And only because he was alone at the end of VI, so this is the basis 30 years later. Please come on, there should be a more compelling storytelling, since it simply doesn't fit his character. Also letting his friends alone fighting the enemy is just not the way Luke would handle things. He also faced quite certain death on the death star 2, when he confronted Vater/Palpatine, but did not ran away. So please find just a more fitting reason, like him being captured/marooned or guarding a tomb.

 

JJ needs to swoop in with some official images or something NOW. The whining over Luke's role, and the unwillingness among many to even entertain scenarios in which this state of affairs makes for a strong film, has turned my brain into mush. It's all just so repetitive and boring.

 

If the rumors. Are certos.Eles not trust Mark Hamill. And invetaram this exile to strip Luke scene.

Abrams needs to do no such thing - it isn't his responsibility to coddle fans or manage expectations.

He is a filmmaker, not a nanny.
