Haven't see any such videos about Luke's death. Just various people giving different opinions.
However, I had this thought about balancing the Force. It'll be a bit wordy, but hear me out. It's a little radical.
Ok, you have Rey and Kylo Ren. Yin and Yang. Dark and Light.
You have Rey who supposedly is light and Kylo Ren who is a dark side user.
Then you have Luke who (we assume right now) epitomizes the Light. And Snoke who epitomizes the Dark.
If Snoke is so strong in the Darkside and Luke so strong and powerful in the Light, is Luke also part of that imbalance??
Not that I want him killed off. NO. I could see that happening in XI, but not yet in VIII.
Maybe Luke just found out the missing piece to understanding the Force, the Jedi, Sith, the Dark , the Light.
Could his power as well as Snokes both be contributing factors to the imbalance?

i wonder how we got to the point that any self-appointed "experts" on youtube can present their own uninformed speculations and theories as well-documented leaks...can i play this game too? ok..hi guys i'm Andrew Omega and on my 14556th SW video there's an exclusive leak that's gonna blow your mind: if you say "supeme leader Snoke" three times in front of your mirror he will instantly appear behind you and offer you a banana split. Also, at the same time, Luke will die from bad writing. True story!

Hamill liked Luke had a family in the old EU. He said that in a Hyperspace interview.

For good or bad, Lucas was never informed about Mara Jade and Luke getting married and having a children together. This was said by the authors.

 

but doesn't mean Luke cannot have a love interest/wife and kid in new canon.

 

You know, we are almost getting to the point that the complete lack of spoilers might be hurting the buzz around this film a little. I mean, obviously Disney doesn't want a repeat of what happened last time where 98 percent of the film was online 6 months out for the world to see, but we need a little something to whet the appetite a little. There is literally NOTHING to talk about, and there hasn't been in a year. I guess once we hit Celebration in April it will ramp up, so this is the lowest point, but I have just about had enough of bad Snoke theories and 'Luke will die' crap based on the color of the logo on the teaser poster.

 

Marketing FAIL confirmed.

 

I mean, can YOU believe it? We are less than 10 months from the film being released, filming completed months ago, and we don't even know if Del Toro or Dern's new characters are heroes or villains. I didn't think it was possible to keep something this quiet in the age of smart phones and the Internet.

 

Hurting the buzz? I hear someone out in public talking about the new films at least once a day...and most the time way more than that.

 

A disaster. Lucasfilm's done and dusted. Nothing to see here. Move along. Back to the MCU line for some mush and gravy.

 

We're talking about the sequel to one of the biggest films of all time. The buzz will absolutely be there in the lead-up to this film, and not knowing who Laura Dern is playing, 10 months prior to release, will not have an impact.

 

All this from me saying 'MIGHT be hurting the buzz A LITTLE BIT.'

I didn't say the damn movie was going to tank, guys. Jesus. There's plenty of time, but we are chasing our tails right now. Go look over on the sophisticated discourse thread and tell me we don't need some news.

 

Yup. People are gnawing their limbs off in there. It's a horror show.
