Indeed. It was just in front of our noses in the teaser and yet, I was not able to process it until you wrote it down.

Another thing comes to mind: Snoke is obviously not aware of Luke's - so to speak- current depressive mood.

He wouldn't have said then "If Skywlaker returns, the new Jedi would rise"

Agreed. We're about to witness the second part of a three film story. I take everything from that perspective.

 

Maybe they filmed a scene where Luke is walking or levitating on the water?

Oh, that. Looks like a jetski to me. Not positive, though.

 

Seeing the teaser which implies Luke wants the Jedi to end and thinking that that means that that's all that Luke's story will involve is like seeing the TFA opening crawl and thinking alike will stay vanished for good.

When Mark talks it's often hard to tell whether he is serious or joking. I think it's often a bit of both.

 

He's an enigma! Still, I see no reason why he would be unhappy with the ST's existence. Especially as he's taking part. Voluntarily too.

 

True, which is why I just ignore any "clues" he drops.

 

I think he is wary of it all backfiring. He's seen the backlash the PT got. He doesn't want that. He was worried people would not like the Luke cameo in TFA, now he's seen the postive reaction he's fine with that. He's onboard with RJ's vision now, but the fear that people might react like he initially did won't go until he knows if the reaction is positive (yay!) or a backlash (boo!). If it's the former he'll be absolutely delighted I'm sure. If it's the latter, he'll obviously be down on it. This seems like a normal human reaction to me.

 

Absolutely. This is backed up by him recounting his conversation with RJ where they both admitted they were terrified (paraphrasing here) about whether they could capture lightning in a bottle again. I'm in a bit of a hurry so probably didn't phrase that quite right, although I think the main gist came through.

Absolutely. Both of them should be scared. But equally, especially RJ - they also seemed passionate about it to me. I get the feeling RJ is very pleased with how it's progressing.

 

I think Mark was entirely satisfied with his life and career before the ST came along. I think he's happy to do it, for the most part, but perhaps a little disappointed that it's taken up so much of his time over the last few years. This is a serious commitment that goes far beyond simply showing up on set and performing, which is what most films involve.
