Those colours are stunning and spectacular. You stir a lot of emotions here.
Thanks you guys!
I'm new to the forum and just happened on your thread... And I was blown away!
Your art is amazing!
I especially love the Maul one (ehm.. coz Maul's my fave). I also have to say that you really bring out the samurai feel in Vader's costume
You have really good technical watercolour skills too! You must have spent a long time perfecting them. So, you work as a professional for Topps?
Yes...most of my work, this past year has been done for Topps and Rittenhouse Archives.
Thanks for the compliment!
WOW that is beautiful! Nice vivid watercolor!
EDIT: It's also now my wallpaper.
Art for the upcoming Galaxy 4 set from topps.
Hunt for Grievous:
Wow, that's really pretty!! I love the colors.
I LOVE it!! Of course, who wouldn't love such a great painting of Kenobi--all "general-y!" The composition is fabulous, with Obi Wan dominating, but Grievous hovering malevolently in the lower frame--it really tells the story of the title (which I always love!)--terrific palette, too, imparting the sense of urgency in said hunt. Marvelous work!
Wow, I'm so glad I randomly wandered over to this forum Wonderfully done, Mark. Now I have a question for you: what are sketch cards and what is the significance of them?
Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
BultarSwan...that's a loaded question. I think I'll direct you to this forum ...it explains it all...and then some!
Some beautiful work here...In this age of photoshopped DVD sleeves, book covers etc, it's so refreshing to see such strikingly original SW artwork
The Vader/Twin Suns from Page 1 of this thread is my fav.
The piece you did for the base card is simply amazing, Mark! I just keep staring at it. I'm sure there's plenty of collectors out there who can't wait to get their hands on this one.
1st 3 of my 6 return cards for Galaxy 4:
Holy MOLY!!! AWEsomeness!! I just adore your use of color and tone--you manage to get all the contours perfect to capture the likenesses, as well as providing a boldness that's so perfectly Star Wars! I think my favorite of these is Han and Chewie--mostly because I can so exactly place their mood and moment from the scene--but Padme and Leia are just gorgeous, as well! I can't choose!!
Fabulous, fabulous work!!
All I can say is: drool. drooooolllll....... Of course, ALL your work is amazing.... Just wonderful, Mark!
I sooo want that Han and Chewie! It's perfect!
Truly amazing, Mark! I love your work! Keep it up!
*looks for words, but sees that the flue makes her as speechless as McHaley´s latest art*
Here are the other 3 return cards:
Once again, Mark, truly amazing!
Great use of color and you prove over and over again that a simple stroke can go a long way!
Wow! Those are very cool I love the colors.
I love the way you play with light and shadow.
And you use such warm colours...
Wow. Astounding. Just...breathtaking. You have such a gift. Remarkable work.
Gah!! Gorgeous work!! The Vader with snowtroopers--wow, the red palette there is just so powerful! Love it, catching Vader in mid-stride that way--very kinetic feel to it! All are stunning--your eye for and skill with watercolor makes me...cry! It's so good! !!
