Mars

So is anyone else going to be staying up late Wednesday evening to gaze at the Red Planet???

 

I already spent my night Mars-gazing before I left home. I just had to bust out my telescope and check it out. I'll probably take a peek Wed- provided we aren't rained out.

 

I didn't know you had a telescope. How cool! I have to dust mine off and hope the clouds are kind

 

I went over to DBCC, they had some telescopes set up. Pretty neat!

I've got a digital camera from the library, so hopefully using my telescope I can get some blasty pics.

 

Well this was most certainly an interesting evening.

I had a lady that was obviously high come out and ponder what I was looking at, then started to tell me everything was a conspiracy while saying duuuuuuude every other line. Then for some odd reason (which isn't really odd in this neighborhood) the sheriff helicopter was circling my position at about 500' for 20 minutes. Some guy hopped out of a pickup and calibrated my telescope, then came back an hour later to do it again. And finally about 10 people from Bethune-Cookman heard I was out here and decided to come and hang out in the parking lot

Yeah, I think tomorrow night I'll be heading out to the beach...

 

The freaks come out at night.

 

I just ended up heading down behind Lehman. Dr Fleck and Dr Bishop set up some telescopes and let people check it out. There were huge lines and I only saw it for a bit, but it was darn cool nonetheless.

 

I thought Dr. Fleck may be out, but everyone I talked to said anywhere they went with a telescope, there was an insane line. I guess just at BC there were over 400 people. Crazy!

 

I stayed up and I'm glad I did Mars was so pertty
