Some of you may already be familiar with Chris Alexander's new book, allowing you to quickly and easily fold origami models of vehicles and characters from the Star Wars universe:

    http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Origami-Paper-folding-Projects/dp/0761169431

I also create my own models, and I too hope to be able to publish a book of diagrams for my original designs, such as:

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

To see these models in more detail, and the rest of my creations, please visit my new website http://www.starwarigami.co.uk, and if you like what you find there, please do hit that like button and share it with you friends!

The more support I get online, the more likely it will be that I can secure a license from Lucasfilm, and the quicker I can bring these instructions to print.

Thanks for your time, and do please let me know what you think - all feedback is welcome!

Welcome to Fan Art! These are quite amazing!

Is it hard to work out how to construct new vehicles? Do you have a favourite to make?

I can only do the usual origami stuff which makes me a mere youngling compared to you. ^:)^

I think my duck will be under the feet of your AT-AT in no time.

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

Some models come together quite easily - the naboo starfighter for example only took me about an hour to design once I had the initial idea. It's folded from the same base as the classic japanese crane - the landspeeder is also folded from the same base, which just show how much variety you can get even with the traditional models as starting points.

The X-Wing on the other hand took me four years and several different attempts before I felt that I had nailed the design, and 3D models such as R2-D2 take a lot of planning up front, as they have to be designed from the ground up, and not just a modification of one of the normal starting points.

And then sometimes you just stumble onto something with blind luck - I was fiddling with my bus ticket in some particularly bad traffic, and before I knew it, the Star Destroyer was in my hands...

When I was younger, I had made a few dinosaur ones but I've forgotten how to do them now.

I used to do that with my bus tickets on the bus too but never like this, that Star Destroyer is amazing! With your latest TPM models, you've got me wanting to watch the film again. I can't wait to see what you are working on next!

Hum, I really should take some time to try that out. I can do the dragon, so why shouldn´t I try a TIE fighter... [face_thinking]

With the half a square left over from folding the hailfire droid, I have come with a related model, the Droid Starfighter a.k.a. vulture droid. Quite a fiddly model to bring together, but the result is quite satisfactory

Check out more images here http://www.starwarigami.co.uk/vulture-droid.html - the Crease Pattern is also available
