Hey, that looks like the parody "Rebel Four" in the last SW Tales... or, erm, the SW Tales looks like it. And here I thought they based the picture more on the Fantastic four than the originals. Bravo!

    how appropriately retro.
I guess the inside colors will use the old 4 color process too, rather than new computer colors. :(

Reminds me of the Simpsons DVD cover. I wanted so much more, but in the end it just fits.

I heard awhile ago that there were just going to be 7 TPBs. The OS says 8 in the new update. Which is correct?

Originally they said 4. Then when it became color they said 8. Then Dave Land said seven. Then TOS says 8. There's 20 issues in book 1, and 110 issues total I believe, so I can't really see it being 8...

That's actually a cover from the series, issue number somewhere in the teens or twenties. I'd look for my copy, but my old comics are a little difficult to get to at the moment. I remember it, though.

    Howdy!

    Seven issues not eight.

Also the interiors are being computer colored but it's going to look just like the originals. I've already seen the first volume and they're pretty dead on with the exception of the dot pattern.

The cover image is taken from the cover of one of the comics... But I can't remember which one at the moment either...

Quest, your timeline isn't entirely accurate. I'm going to make some adjustments, but the Marvel placements are only a guess, based on when I read them about a year ago, Timetales and TUSWTL.

    Episode IV: A New Hope
Star Wars Journals: Captive to Evil-Princess Leia Organa
Star Wars Journals: Fight For Justice-Luke Skywalker
Star Wars Missions #1: Assault on Yavin Four
Star Wars Missions #2: Escape From Thyferra
Star Wars Missions #3: Attack on Delrakkin
Star Wars Missions #4: Destroy the Liquidator
This is about where the first of the organal Marvel stories start, I think it starts with #8 and goes on through the end of the Waterworld arc. I'm not sure what other stories will be in the collection.
Star Wars Missions #17: Darth Vader's Return
Star Wars Missions #18: Rogue Squadron to the Rescue
Star Wars Missions #19: Bounty on Bonadan
Star Wars Missions #20: Total Destruction
Star Wars Missions #5: The Hunt for Han Solo
Star Wars Missions #6: The Search for Grubba the Hutt
Star Wars Missions #7: Ithorian Invasion
Star Wars Missions #8: Togorian Trap
Star Wars Missions #9: Revolt of the Battle Droids
Star Wars Missions #10: Showdown in Mos Eisley
Star Wars Missions #11: Bounty Hunters vs Battle Droids
Star Wars Missions #12: The Vactooine Disaster
    The Star Wars Holiday Special
Classic Star Wars, Volume 1: In Deadly Pursuit
Classic Star Wars, Volume 2: The Rebel Storm
    Vader's Quest
Classic Star Wars, Volume 4: The Early Adventures
Classic Star Wars, Volume 3: Escape to Hoth
Galaxy of Fear #1: Eaten Alive
Galaxy of Fear #2: City of the Dead
Galaxy of Fear #3: Plague Planet
Galaxy of Fear #4: The Nightmare Machine
Galaxy of Fear #5: Ghost of the Jedi
Galaxy of Fear #6: Army of Terror
Galaxy of Fear #7: Brain Spiders
Galaxy of Fear #8: The Swarm
    Galaxy of Fear #9: Spore
Dark Forces (Dark Trooper project only)
    River of Chaos
Star Wars Missions #13: Prisoner of the Nikto Pirates
Star Wars Missions #14: The Monsters of Dween
Star Wars Missions #15: Voyage to the Underworld
Star Wars Missions #16: Imperial Jailbreak

It should be noted that Classic Star Wars #1-4's placements are not completely accurate, as the stories in them take place all over the timeline, however they are more accurate in the middle then they would be at the end.

What are these timelines based on ?[face_plain]
These published adventures based on STAR WARS characters and events weren't exactly part of a "master timeline" when originally published...

There seems to be some confusion as to the placement of Classic SW #4- The Early Adventures and the last 3 or 4 SW Mission titles...

With CSW#4, it's because it's a bunch of seperate stories that don't take place all at the same time.

    >What are these timelines based on

Either statements in reference books regarding the chronological order, (for example, "after the droid's adventures with Baobab, they journeyed to Karlarba...") That indicates that the droid comicbook series happens after the cartoon. Or, a determination based on events in the actual books can be made, (for example, Darth Maul receives the Infiltrator in his comic series, therefore his Episode I Adventure book, which features the Infiltrator, must take place afterwards.) Occasionally, it's anyone's guess, as with the Science Adventure books.

    >These published adventures based on STAR WARS characters >and events weren't exactly part of a "master timeline" when >originally published...

Actually, they were. LFL keeps a "master timeline" of all published SW materials. See the Secrets of Shadows of the Empire book for more details.
