I know JB. But that comes to more than $100 for that. EC is cheaper

Not regretting picking up DJ one shot if not in TLJ adaptation. Surprised it's not. Better pick up Storms of Crait now .

I somewhat expect Storms of Crait to be included in a Star Wars volume 4 hardcover, because it takes place around the same time as the Star Wars ongoing and heavily features SCAR squadron.

Sept / Oct are going to be murder:

    Sept:
    • X-Men: Wedding of Cyclops & Phoenix omnibus $125
    • Fantastic Four Omnibus Byrne 1 $125
    • Guardians of the Galaxy Duggan Omnibus $75
    • Aphra OHC1 $35
    Oct:
    • Tomb of Dracula Omnibus 1 - $100
    • Thor Heroes Reborn Omnibus 2 - $125
    • Vader OHC1 - $35
Even getting that lot at 40-45% off, it still ain't going to be cheap!

The trick is to buy only trades and get as big a discount online as possible.

If I was US based, InStock Trades sounds good but I'm not, so the shipping kills a bargain. I do have a few alternatives over here though.

You mean with Marvel's pricing generally? The one example where I knew I was being fleeced was the Master of Kung Fu omnibus quartet.

Yes. Everything Marvel is very low quality for very high prices.

Their new material trades I'd agree are - and have said so frequently - are crap.

I've found their trades of older material when bought for a discount and collect 15-20 issues to be far better.

Their OHC / Omnibuses tend to be better, but Marvel do sometimes push it too far with too-thin paper that undermines the product. (Vision OHC)

Compared to their competition, they are pricier. Also, there's some really odd stuff going on digitally, where you can get insane bargains.

Regarding Epic Collections, I'm wondering when they'll finally do The Newspaper Strips, Vol. 2.

Bargain! I nabbed Star Wars OHC2 for £12, it arrived today.

I might do this on the other future OHCs that I'm less certain on, play a longer game and bag 'em cheap.

I recently discovered InStock Trades and within the span of a few months I have the hardcover Hellboy collection I have always wanted, it's so cheap I'm contemplating dropping single issues entirely. Individual comics are getting too expensive!

Me too. I'm wondering about the contents though, material from Classic Star Wars #4 "The Serpent Masters" along with issues 5-20 will most likely be included but I wonder what else will be included. I hoping they include the original B&W strips although their currently available in hardcover but not digital like the Epic Collections are.

Yes I have all of them except volume 5, DH seems to have a cycle of when they put them in print so it's a waiting game on that one.

    Don't forget Hellboy In Hell.

While they're standard size hardbacks - the BPRD ones are very nice hardbacks, top quality volumes.

I did pickup Hellboy in Hell. Minus BPRD Vol.1 and the newly releasing BPRD Hell on Earth hardcovers, it seems the original BPRD series hardcovers are out of print and in paperback now. A bummer, but I have gotten the first Hell on Earth and Abe Sapien hardcovers however.

A third Abe Sapien is due July. (The second is this month)

A third Hell on Earth is due November, will be 5 in total covering the 15 trades that comprise the Hell on Earth arc.

Arc 3 is The Devil You Know and will - sob - be the finale of the Mignolaverse!

I have a question, I’ve just been looking at the first run of Darth Vader, my question is did this run only have hardcovers volume one and two as I can’t seem to find a three on amazon.

Yes, the two hardcovers contain the whole series. There's also a Omnibus OHC that is basically the 2 volumes. I went with V. 1 and 2 instead of the omnibus.
There's a new Darth Vader series about his early days, but the hardcover for that one haven't been released yet.

Also, if you get them at a good price buying HC1-2 is cheaper than the Omnibus!
