Gaming Mass Effect Series

Hmm, seems I'm likely to require a new machine for this one - what I have is in line with the minimum specs except for RAM (only 4 GB) and I'm not sure the Intel HD graphics card will fit the bill. It runs ME3 okay, although after extended play I will notice some slight glitches.

I've had the old "Mk3" (my third laptop) for 5 1/2 years now, so not a bad service run.

 

Looks good to me. The combat looks like a nice evolution on ME3's, faster and more fluid. I don't get why so many people are down on it in the comments though. Like, the only thing I dislike about it is Destin Legarie but that's because the US IGN team is the worst.

 

Looks like the old standby of "let the krogan close to shotgun range and beat the crap out of everyone" still applies.

 

ME:A is now pre-loadable on Xbox, mine's just finished

So...I haven't been following this game at all. What's the story? Last I checked, all the mass relays got blown to smithereens, so how do humans not only leave their solar system but manage to find their way to another galaxy?

 

The mission to Andromeda sets off a heat before Mass Effect 3 so they don't have to deal with the ending. Basically, the council races decide to send a mission off to the Andromeda galaxy, 600 years later they arrive.

 

Couple of interesting bits here: Weapon augments including heat-seeking sniper rounds and an ME1-style heat sink, a Turian military commander named Kandros (presumably Tiran Kandros, the main character of the Mass Effect: Discovery comic due out on April 12), a hint that one subplot may be the missing Turian ark, recorded archaeology lectures from Liara T'Soni, and ... slam poetry, singing, and drink quests at the bar?

 

I want my Sara Ryder to take on Drack in a drinking contest. And win.

I´am kinda angered... Mass Effect people want to go to Andromeda galaxy??? Very well, Miras-Etrin and other six Masters of the Island are waiting for them! I´ll take it as my personal matter and soon, hydrogen-breathing Maahks, two-trunk elephant people and ship-eaters will be upon cute ass of Sara Ryder. No dirty barbarian will take the stars that rightfully belong to us!!

I suspect Zelda is going to continue to occupy my time despite having a copy of this preordered.

This has to be of the most insane gaming months in ages - 3 AAA titles hitting at once.

 

It has been a big month. Not a Zelda fan myself, but I've seen the anticipation building in some of my friends.

 

I can't say I've ever been a huge fan of the series, but the new game is quite the reinvention and so far has lived up to its reputation.

 

I'm definitely picking this up on launch day. I love the ME series.

 

About to jump into the 10-hour trial! I'm really excited by what I've seen from the first few hours.

I can't wait to hear what you all think.

Debating on pre-ordering myself - I'll probably wind up getting the deluxe edition regardless for the extra single-player goodies. Still haven't gone shopping for a new computer to properly run this bad boy.

 

I love the ME series, had a blast with the trilogy. ME 2 is my favorite installment (like Empire, 2nd act is the best.) I am stoked for Andromeda but get so little time to play due to work. Hope I can remember the story between play sessions.
