I haven't actually played Mass Effect, or Baldur's Gate 2 for that matter, but I couldn't help but add my two cents on Jennifer Hale.

Decided the time is good now to get Mass Effect 3 for PC, given all the DLC stuff is here now (and since others seem to have had Origin a while now without it going all spyware on their PCs)

But I like the look of the Trilogy set which includes all the DLC stuff for the first two games. I already have Steam copies of the first two games but never managed to get Bring Down the Sky or Pinnacle Station DLC for ME1 (although the latter is now on Origin).
I'm not sure if it's really worth getting copies of games I already have even if the set is nice although £40 for 3 games and DLC is pretty good.

I'm thinking of getting a PS3 once the price inevitably drops to familiarize myself with Sony game franchises I've always wanted to play. I just might grab the trilogy pack as well, even though I've been blowing up Reapers on my 360 since 2007.

The trilogy sets for all three platforms have all the DLC for both ME1 and ME2? Huh, that might be a good deal then. I think I've seen both ME1 and ME2 go for about $20 (new and used). If I'm right, all the story DLC (Bring Down the Sky, Pinnicle Station, Stolen Memory, Overlord, Arrival, Lair of the Shadow Broker at least) would cost somewhere between $40-50, I think. So if the box set has all that, and is about $60, you're actually getting a pretty good deal (ME3 not withstanding. :p )

I've played ME2 on my computer, and while I'll admit the framerate is better (and the ability to take screenshots is cool), I actually do prefer playing it on the 360. Haven't tried it on the PS3, so I can't comment on that. I guess I wouldn't mind if I got a Steam copy of ME1 to go with my Steam copy of ME2, but I'm not dying for it or anything. The 360 versions are good enough for me. :p

What did you all think of the Reckoning DLC? I've unlocked the Talon Mercenary, EDI infiltrator person and the Awakened Collector so far, the Talon Mercanry is easily my favorite so far, especially with that Omni-bow.

Huh, kinda heard the Talon Merc (or as I call him, the Zaeed Cosplayer :p ) was kinda sucky. I don't have him yet, so I can't really comment on him.

I got the Female Turian (Cabal Vanguard) as my "gift" character after I downloaded Reckoning. After playing a couple rounds as her, I've concluded her name should be Wolverine (okay, maybe X-23 would be better):p . Her melee and heavy melee is slashing at enemies with poison claws, and she also has poison darts that poison and paralyze enemies. Instead of a Biotic Charge, she has this sort of dash ability you can use without even targeting someone. I think it's supposed to damage enemies, but I seem to have a hard time doing that with it though. Not sure what the deal is.

I also picked up the Krogan Warlord, but I haven't tried him out yet though.

The Krogan Warlord is (in my opinion) very overpowered, but awesome. Yeah i have heard that people enerally dislike the Talon Mercenary, but i don't mind him, he is fine in Bronze, but thats about it.

I played a few rounds with the Cabal Vanguard as well, and it is really REALLY fun. Not sure what kind of weapon to use with her yet though. I've tried SMGs, Pistols, Shotguns, Snipers, and Assault rifles. I feel like it is best used with some random 200% cooldown weapon because when the shields go down you can just manually recharge them with the biotic focus power or whatever its called.

I've yet to unlock any of these dudes, but I've played a couple of matches with one or two of them. Awakened Collectors are just ... smelly.

On the other hand, Geth Juggernauts have this cute way of walking that makes them look sort of cuddly when you combine it with their size. They're nice for my Asari Vanguard to use as a riot shield while I figure out how to use it properly... :D

...Derp. I found the "Free Gift" from Bioware. What did I get? The sexbot.

She. Is. AWESOME. Infiltrator stealth mode, freezing capacity, and martial arts. Runs like Usain Bolt. I've taken down 2 Phantoms and 2 Dragoons with kung fu in three games! I've got her specc'd for Black Widow sniping goodness, and haven't fully evolved her melee capabilities yet, but this one's just begging to be a shotgun-wielder, close-combat specialist! :D

^^Sounds a little bit like the N7 Shadow I have. She has an Evisorator X with a blade attachment. Pretty fragile, but fast and hits pretty hard.

Okay, played a few rounds with the Krogan Warlord (who I've decided to call Thor, for some reason :p .) I swear he could nearly one-hit kill a Brute with a heavy melee on Bronze. I think I might still prefer the Krogaurd for up close and personal melee, but Warlord isn't bad. And you get to swing around Mjolnir :p

Now, for a couple of war stories. I played my first Gold match against Collectors on Firebase Dagger (Hazard) yesterday. The results were... not pretty [face_beatup] . Managed to get to about wave 7 or 8 before getting wiped. Also had my first Gold match against Reapers as well. It was on the Vancouver map, and there was me with my Turian Sentinel, a Batguard, and two Geth Juggernauts. This may sound wierd, but it actually wasn't that bad. Geth Juggernauts apparently can't be insta-killed, which is very helpful when the Banshee hordes start showing up. And they can apparently soak up a ton of damage, which led to the somewhat amusing image of seeing a Banshee, a Brute, and a random assortment of other things all around one of the Juggernauts, and me unleashing on them with my Phaeston X w/Incendiary III rounds and Overload.

Just had some fun running my infiltrator through the N7: Communications Hub mission. I decided to try out the Javelin sniper rifle ... MUAHAHA! There was little chance of hiding from the all-seeing Thermal Scope of Doom. Rank 6 AP ammo plus the innate 1-meter piercing meant I was one-shotting Centurions and Nemeses through the walls. Even blasted one Centurion through the floor of the control room. The short charging period is tricky, but since I had a concentration mod on top of the infiltrator's scope time it wasn't hard to track targets.

If i just want to have fun, i'll play Bronze or Silver, but if i want credits, i'll go for Gold or Platinum, even though i'm not great at platinum, i've only completed about 8.

For goodness sake, Skyrim was the first RPG I really played since Final Fantasy VIII and X, I got it for $25 at Target on Black Friday, and I am actually stuck on a rather annoying Companions quest, Hired Muscle, so I haven't really been playing it lately. I have never been much of a fan of RPGs, though Skyrim may have cured me of that if I could ever beat it. I would like to get the Mass Effect trilogy collection at some point.

Yeah, Bronze and Silver are fine if you want to have fun and goof off. Most of the time, I play those, with the occasional Gold. Haven't tried Platinum (though I shudder to think what the Collectors are like there...). Speaking of Gold, I just got my 25th Gold extraction yesterday, and completed the "Squad Elite" Challenge.

In other news, Episode 43 of Marauder Shields is up, staring... Zaeed.

As it is, the Citadel DLC will possibly be some of the last (if not the last) I will buy for the entire franchise, including media from other BioWare franchises past, present and future (unless the Citadel DLC surprisingly DOES confirm IT or fixes the endings proper).

I hate to say it but it definitely won't. I feel your pain however.

The DLC might shed some valuable light on things in those Citadel Archives though.

I'll YouTube it as soon as I can. If it's good and/or fixes the ending enough for me, I might get it. I doubt it will though. But yeah, unless this dlc is the equivalent of a biblical miracle, I'll pretty much be done with BioWare (except maybe the odd match or two on ME3 MP). Don't care about TOR, ME4 (or whatever they're calling it), or DA3.

I love that shot at 2:08 with Shepards whole squad on the roof shooting.

This DLC seems to be what I wanted the ending to be, a chance for your whole squad to contribute and be awesome.

Though I didn't realize the Joker was going to be the villain...

Come to think of it... who is this villain? I mean he has to be someone we've encountered before right? I mean he has it in for Shepard so it has to be someone from ME1 or ME2 we wronged or something.

Okay, got some thoughts after seeing the trailer.

    1) 0:20. It's nice to see that Anderson gives us an apartment on the Citadel, despite being stuck in a ground war in Reaper-occupied Earth.

    2) 0:38 Someone's trying to kill Shep... and that Alliance officer thinks it's news? She does know that there are these things called "Reapers" trying to kill Shep and everyone else in the galaxy, right? And on top of that, there's Cerberus.

Also, I'm probably the only one who'll think so, but she kinda reminds me of Dee from BSG. :p

    3) 0:45. So the party gets interrupted by COG cosplayers who were auditioning for the role of the Joker in The Dark Knight? :p

    4) 1:18. Wrex is being all sorts of awesome.

    5) 1:25. Wait, wait... So, we can't get everyone from ME1 and 2 back to fight Reapers (you know, those 2km tall Mecha-Cthulhus trying to wipe out all life in the galaxy?) because they're "too busy" or whatnot, but the second the COG Cosplayers show up, suddenly everyone is available? What possible threat are they that would require everyone? o_O

    6) 1:29. Zaeed!

    7) 1:32. FemShep and Garrus reenacting Dirty Dancing? :p

    8) 1:56. Whoa, wait. The Normandy is chasing a skycar, firing, and missing? Just how many people are now dead because someone didn't bother to check their firing solution? Good job, "hero".

    9) 2:05. Objection! This isn't "one last adventure" if it takes place before the ending of the game. Now, if this was post ending dlc, that would be a different story. But I suppose that would infringe on BW's "art".

    10) 2:08. Okay, I do think seeing everyone there is kinda cool. I'll admit it.

    11) 2:10. I think I can smell the cheese there.

Also, that's gotta be a depressing picture if you go through and get everyone possible killed. :p The only people guaranteed to be there are Shep, Liara, Vega, Joker, EDI, Traynor, and Cortez.

The main thing I keep thinking after seeing that trailer is "Why isn't this post-ending? That would make more sense." Then again, if the past year is anything to go by, common sense is in very, very short supply at Bioware. I mean, yeah, I'd love a dlc that revolves around all the squadmates, and to be honest, it sounds kind of neat. But the context makes no sense. Why are we worried about the random COG Cosplayers when the Reapers are destroying everything? If this was post-ending, I'd shell out the $15 for it in a heartbeat, but it isn't. This "final adventure" takes place before the ending.

Great, I get a nice, posh, apartment on the Citadel, as well as reunite with, and party with all my current and former squadies!

Oh wait, I'm still dead by the end of the game... What's the point then?

EDIT: I see I wasn't the only one who thought of The Joker. :p

Yeah this DLC really feels like it's supposed to be post-war. I mean Anderson apartment hunting for Shepard... Wrex abandoning the war for a quick adventure with Shepard(I mean the KING of the Krogan, the only guy holding the clans together as allies with the Turians, the guy responsible for holding Tuchanka and Palaven SURELY has time for some R&R with Shep)... This whole thing feels like it should be a fun lighthearted post war adventure where Shepard has one last adventure with all his friends and loved ones before finally being able to stop fighting and start a life in peace.

Now the DLC will end with all of Shepards squad standing in his apartment at his funeral staring at that group picture, weeping uncontrollably that he's dead.
