    Welcome to Fan Art, Qui-Ran! :)

    Very nice drawings! The first pencil drawing reminds me a lot of Obi-Wan. Keep on drawing and be sure to show us more as you get them done. :)

    Greetings Qui-Ran and allow me to add my welcome to our forum! I love your style--it has a very "old world/Old Masters" feel to it, very painterly. The character portrait is beautiful--he reminds me of a Spanish prince, for some reason--perhaps it's the goatee-style beard, or perhaps the soulful eyes. Lovely shading--there's a great deal of depth to each piece, and a lot of attention to the emotion of the scene (always a draw for me!). Wonderful pieces (and now I'm curious about this Jedi Master and his world! :D ), and we'll be looking forward to more!

    These are just beautiful, Qui-Ran--I can't get over the energy and action in each of them: it's a glimpse into the world you're creating for this Jedi Master, and it really seems like elaborately detailed storyboarding, or drawings of still photos of actual scenes... The duel is great--his expression is perfect for the situation--that same sort of grimace we saw on Obi Wan's face many times during his duel in ROTS with Anakin/Vader...awesome! This is a great perspective, too--and the poses are beautifully rendered, with Qui-Ran pinned against a high parapet, the sabers pressing toward him. Excellent! The "pass" of the padawan is also great--both their expressions are just right: his rather shocked and displeased, hers all sultry and coy! And the Knighting ceremony piece is just wonderful: Jedi of every imaginable age and species, and all the robes so original and so beautifully rendered...just wonderful!

    I have to ask: how are you coloring these? Is is markers? Colored pencils? It has a wonderful tactile-ness to it, with the visible stroke-marks, and the colors are so vibrant and rich. Just beautiful work! =D=

    Thank you so much for your credits. It really makes me happy when someone likes my work so much as you do :) Thank you very much!

    I am using coloured Pencils to draw the pictures. You have to be watchfull about their durance. They should be quite soft, so that the colours can be intensive enough. First I sketch the scenes with normal pencils. Then I colour them step by step.

    [image=http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/8585/speedingtroughcoruscant9kg.jpg]

    I have another Picture in which we see a "Speederscene". Padawan Ashira is learning to fly a speeder. Her Master Sig D'Nar is sitting besides her and Qui-Ran at the back... how he feels? Just watch his face :D

    This is priceless! I just love the looks on everyone's faces: Ashira, all intense and concentrating, her Master D'Nar giving her a "don't get crazy now" sideways glare, and then Qui-Ran, with that look of disbelieving terror all over him! LOL! Adding in the advert with the scantily-clad Twi'lek is a superb touch here--it really gives it a sense of place. Colored pencils, eh? I bow to your skill with them! I've tried using them a few times, with only marginal success (facial tones and proper shadowing proved very difficult for me...)--you seem to have a great technique that works well for you. Another wonderful piece, Qui-Ran!

    Well, let me thank you :) and give you an advice rightaway: Draw your pictures with a normal pencil first. Shadow them properly. Then add the colours. Its just like the old art of colouring movies :)

    The scene with Rigg and Qui-Ran is wonderful! I love the perspective of it, and the feeling that we're just happening upon their conversation, there on the roof of the Temple. Very, very nice! Your "critters" are very...interesting! "Disney factor," eh? :D And I just love the portrait of Vendar Koon: he looks very regal, as we would expect a senior Jedi Master to look. The "mutton-chop" sideburns are a unique touch, and give him a distinctive appearance, as does the swept-back hair--wonderful character in this one! Great additions, Qui-Ran!

    A beautiful Twi'lek Jedi that doesn't look like she's had enhancement surgery!! Awesome!! :D ;) I love this piece: she's properly serious in her expression, her pose is positively coiled (I am so in awe of the foreshortening in this figure--it looks bloody perfect to me...) and she has the muscles a Jedi most certainly should, with beautiful shoulders and biceps... Her costuming is gorgeous--not too revealing, but showing some skin--the gauntlets, arm bands and shin guards are great and distinctive touches--and I love the colors, too. Her weapon is wonderful, as well--a beautifully designed hilt, and something I could see her coming up with: something deadly, but still beautiful to look at--just like herself! What a great rendering of a Twi'lek padawan! =D==D= Just wonderful!

    Very cool! I didn't realize you were doing a fan film for HotJ--it's great to see the "screen shots!"

    And on the poster you've done for the film--most excellent! I can see the development in the first to the final version. I like the warmer background colors best, I think--for some reason it just looks better to me--and the arrangement of the elements is good, too (great starfighter design, btw!). Very nice!

    First I'd like to say thank you for all your credits, and especially FalconFan, I appreciate your words about my pictures very much! You always take much time to evaluate my paintings, which makes me very happy and content.

    Now I would like to present one of my most complex pictures... the so called "Cantina Scene" which is obligate to evry Star Wars Movie:

    [image=http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/2849/cantinascenekd8.jpg]

    Here we can see Qui-Ran talking to Barkeeper Iktius Sorck on Tatooine. This also is a scene to study characters.

    Oh YEAH!! =D==D=[face_dancing]

    I LOVE this one, Qui-Ran!! Wow--a perfect SW "seedy bar" scene!! =D=

    This is just awesome in the details: first, your bartender--what a great alien design! Is he/she of an insectoid species (if so, we'd certainly never find Han Solo in this bar! lol!)? Love the coloring and the costuming--vibrant and intricate! Next, Master Qui-Ran: perfect "Jedi-under-cover" outfit, though with the lightsaber there on his belt, I guess he's not trying too hard to be inconspicuous (and he has that ever-useful "Jedi mind trick" to erase someone's memory of him, anyway...)--I really like his attentive expression here. Both their postures and their hands are also very expressive--I really feel like this is a glimpse into a private exchange! :D I'm rather suspicious of the fellow "lurking" in the booth over on the right--in that hooded cloak, with that sort of unsavory expression on his face--he looks like he could be trouble! The dancing Twi'leks are superb--great costuming and poses there--and I'm adoring the band playing there behind them! The "segmented waiter" in the background behind Qui-Ran and the bartender is quintessential Star Wars--I immediately thought of R2D2 serving drinks aboard Jabba's sailbarge!--drink orders for every available hand is how it's done in any bar, and this is just so appropriate! Another insectoid? Ever-so-cool--and it makes sense if that's a yes, as the barkeep is as well! I didn't at first notice the passed-out Twi'lek patron on the bar there, but I laughed myself silly when I did: every bar has one of these fellows, don't they? [face_laugh] And the Rodian, just out of view (along with the unmistable Twi'leks) really places this in the SW universe! All the bar accoutrements are wonderful: the lighting in the bar surface, the stage, the booths, the rather industrial-looking cylinder to the left--it's all such wonderful detail! What a great, great piece! =D= I love this so much!

    First: Thank you so much!

    And the Barkeeper is somehwat in between of a lizard and a praying mantis. And he is quite like Dexter in EP II of the new Trilogie. The guy "lurking" in the booth is Qui-Ran's former master. And he is watching the place all over for danger. The segmented waiter indeed is an insectoid, called a "Betrasta". I'm glad you love it that much :)

    Have something new for you my friends...

    This picture shows a moment of bafflement for the youngling Ashira Kensu first meeting Qui-Ran Demera. As there is a big secret this Jedimaster carries arround with himself the young very Force-sensible child Kensu is touched by his aura.
    Behind her you can see her Master Lakriakres, a very severe Jedi-Teacher... all the other councilmembers are amused with the little girl and Master Demeras reaction ^^
    See for yourself :)
