    Joshua Jackson would be a brilliant young Han Solo.

    His character in Fringe, Peter Bishop, seems similar to Han Solo.

    But there won't be a remake of ANH until after Episode 9 has been released. McConaughey will be 50 then.
    Then add another ten years, at least, because there will be Anthology films being made after Ep9, and Lucasfilm/Disney will want to put some distance between those movies and any potential remakes. McConaughey is then 60. You really think a 60 year old could pass for a 30 year old?

    And let's face, a remake of ANH won't be made in fifteen yers. If it's ever made, it will most likely be in thirty-forty years. So... a 90 year old McConaughey as Han Solo?
    Ah, sure, why the hell not!

    I am just wondering: if Dinsey did not buy Lucasfil, and the anthology and sequels never existed. They would make a remake this decade.... and Matthew would play Han Solo.

    Lucas would not remake the OT. He would just change it again.

    Right. And when every one of the several thousand members here has voted, we can draft a letter to McConaughey asking him if he'd like to portray the character in a decade or two, after all the currently slated films have been completed.

    Unless of course we continue voting no, as everyone here except Jo Lucas has done. In that event, no letter need be drafted.

    I for one will be holding my breath with excitement.

    I'm pretty sure I voted "yes", as long as McConaughey is around 90 at the time.

    Seriously though, this is just fan fiction/casting/speculation, and not something that would or could ever come true - so why do we need a thread about it?

    No, he isn't. Harrison Ford is a good actor for Solo - and we're getting a fourth movie with him in that role this year!
    In a few years, Solo will be re-cast for an Anthology film, but that's not gonna be McConaughey, because he's way too old (and looks nothing like Ford - and that film will still be in-continuity).

    EDIT: I have no idea why I'm still posting in this thread! I'm out.
