"We mentioned earlier about Matthew Vaughn's involvement in Star Wars IV When we of course meant Star Wars VII. We'll blame the cold."

Tweeted by Jason Flemyng today. He's a close friend of Vaughn's.

It wasn't tweeted by Flemyng. It was tweeted by the people who interviewed him. Jason Flemyng and Vaughn are close friends. Hmmm....Vaughn may be the director. If he is I bet he's going to be giving Flemyng a call pronto. I'm sure neither he nor Lucasfilm will be very pleased with that. Even Mark Millar has done a fairly good job of keeping his notoriously large mouth shut.

Well Millar said that if Vaughn got an offer for Star Wars, he should take it, other projects be damned. That was quite a hint.

I posted that before I saw the video. I've just seen it. Seems like a foregone conclusion now.

Damn work restrictions on video! I want to see it!

I'm not a huge Vaughn fan, but who knows? Could be a masterstroke.

I wouldn't mind Vaughan, he seems pretty competent. I quite liked Stardust despite the reviews.
It's certainly a hell of a lot better choice than M Night "Luke was Vader the whole time" Shamayangalangayang

This is exciting. I gotta believe that they are further along than we think they are in pre-production. There is probably some production art or something out there and that is as exciting as heck to me.

Haven't seen any of his movies, so I can't comment on whether this is a good or a bad thing.

    Hope he's good!

I enjoyed Stardust and Layer Cake, and this seems to be the "next generation" of directors that Lucas is aiming for, so this is A-OK with me.

Considering that Vaughn just dropped out of X-men sequel, not surprising.

I don't see any grounds. There's no copyright material.

I saw Kick Ass and First Class. Hey, that rhymed. Anyway, they were both good movies. I plan on watching Stardust soon.

Within the next 48 hours we should know for usre one way or another by either an official confirm or an official denial.

Now, six degrees of separation. Matthew Vaughn directed X-Men First Class. Jennifer Lawrence played Mystique in XFC. Michael Arndt wrote the next Hunger Games script. Does anyone else see a pattern?

Good clue. Obviously, writing partner not needed.

Question brought up in the AICN -- is he on for all 3 or just 1????

I hope this is the case. I still want Whedon to get a crack at one of them.
