I was really hoping so, but since we heard Serkis's voice in the teaser, I'm definitely less confident about it. But- every empire needs and emperor. He doesn't have to be a dark lord and a dark lord doesn't have to be emperor.

 

YES!! Not only do I love Eastwod, I loved that moment with the chair so so much.

 

I think the fact that the cyborg concept art looks like Sydow is enough to convince me that's who his character is.

 

Making an 85 year old sit through three hours of makeup is cruel.

Sticking an 80 year old dwarf in a can was probably crueler.

 

Regardless, I don't get the constant stream of negativity or people upsetting themselves by listening to rumours like this.

People should take everything they hear and read with a barrel of salt and quit worrying... winding yourself up over rumours is madness.

 

C'mon, isn't it obvious? He's playing a Planetary ecologist.

 

Most 85 year old men I know would relish the thought of sitting in a chair for three hours, especially if it comes with a young female makeup team.

 

I'm not sure if this as been discussed yet but in light of new rumors it sounds like its possible that MVS could possibly be playing Kanan Jarrus, and that he is mentoring/ training Daisy in Luke's absence. What do you guys think of this?

 

Not sure who that is, but I mostly believe the rumors that his character isn't force sensitive.

Though one of my theories is that he's a clone of someone from the PT (perhaps a Jedi) that no longer has force powers.

 

Unlikely. No Rebels character will be in the ST (believe it was confirmed by Filoni)

One rumor describes him as Daisy`s mentor, but in the concept art he doesn`t look or behave as a good guy.

 

Where has he appeared in the concept art?

 

The Boba Fett rumors are not that credible if you think about it logically

1.If they wanted Boba in the movie, they'd bring back Temuera (they can't deny it now), they'd just age him 20 or so years. (Boba is approx 71 in TFA)
2. Sydow is too old by almost 20 years to play a Boba Fett, and why bring an older actor when you could bring him someone who can actually do scenes without having too much green screen help.

 

That guy looked like the Collector (which I believe is another character entirely)

 

There's more than one cyborg character in the concept art. I'm talking about the drunk cyborg at the bar, not the darkside collector.

I think the Collector is an Inquisitor that's been experimented on (altered) and is quite crazy

 

Now I'll be disappointed if it's NOT Lobot.

 

Lobot ...? Not bad. It explains why a young man who looks a bit like Lando is seeking him out.

It also could explain how Luke's saber found its way to Tatooine - if it turned up during routing maintenance on Cloud City.

Boba? No way. Jango hated Jedi, and I believe the sentiment was cloned into Boba. What would he be doing, collecting Sith artifacts?
