ST Max von Sydow in Episode VII

To screen he very likely is as Max is new to SW. I'm fine waiting for the film to see if Max has a name or a title.

 

Well, thing is he is clearly playing a character that's older than both Han, Luke and Leia. So that puts the rumors of Wedge and Ezra away, who would be around the same age as them in TFA if they were still alive.

I think he is Kanan Jarrus after all. The most plausible explanation to this could be that he loses his memory some time during one of the upcoming seasons of Rebels. He forgets that he is a Jedi and becomes senile.

 

The only problem is that I think it's been confirmed that none of the Rebels would be in TFA.

 

wrong, there was a report of Filoni (?) lately that rebels characters will show up in TFA, but we don't recognize them immediately.

 

Interesting. I thought the earlier claim was based on the Inquisitors or Andy Serkis thread where there was speculation that Snoke was the same species (maybe the same character) as one of the new Inquisitors for Season 2.

Well, I don't believe he's playing a character from Rebels. I was asking for clarification given the report I had heard about no Rebels characters in the ST.

 

IDC who Max is playing (be it a character from Rebels, PT etc.) as long as it works for the story.

 

I absolutely do care who Max is playing because I hope his talent is utilised well and he is respected for becoming part of SW. I hope he's permitted to be a nuanced Elder.

 

Maybe Mas Amadda, still in control of the old Imperial Capital of Coruscant. He could be deranged and a mad-man and the Republic needs his help against the First Order.

 

I really hope not.

Chiz wasn't there a rumor on the street that the Vicar (or whatever the name of MVS's character is) has some significance to the previous movies? I think the quote was something like "but it's not earth shattering" irt who he is

Veers is the only imperial I can recall that didn't royally eff up.

 

I wouldn't say Needa messed up that bad. How many Imperials would have expected the "hang the Falcon on the Star Destroyer's hull" trick? At least he took responsibility. I doubt Motti or Ozzel would have done that.
