ST May the 4th is a Sunday

I hearda rumor that they will be making big casting announcement on star wars day(may the 4th) . Then i just looked at the calendar and realized thats a sunday. i doubt they'll be making any major announcements on a sunday.

 

Who knows, but as Yancy pointed out, the Justice League story broke yesterday (a Sunday, for the slow on the uptake).

 

it had a picture of a garden on it. and was for 2014.

 

pretty sure the internet still works on Sundays, and pretty sure people still look at it then as well...

 

But thats not exactly a huge announcement. the casting announcement for star wars is something thats been anticipated for more than a year.

 

so are we suggesting that Disney may be looking to overwork the hamsters on the 4th? should we contact their union? this seems serious.

 

they seem to have it covered....we should be fine...

 

The reason I say this is because people arent' at work on Sundays. News outlets, news magazine shows, websites etc. arent gonna be all over this like they would on a week day. Disney would want to make this a huge announcement that hits the World simultaneously so people can write and report about it. I doubt they'd announce on a sunday and then have it dribble over into monday have it incrementally reported.

 

Also, why does this have its own thread?

 

What I imagine is that somewhere at Disney, some marketing people have a big display listing every day from "go time" on the selling of Episode VII until it opens in theaters. Their job: make sure that some kind of Star Wars-related story is posted out front on as many sites as possible on as many of those days as possible. May the 4ths are already checked off, because fans or media outlets are already doing a big production then. They're going to be focusing their effort on other days.
