Along the lines of those old Battle Roster threads we used to have here... I was thinking about the impending SWood #1 and the whole "right after Yavin" thing, and I was wondering - taking all the continuity we have into account, who exactly was present at Base One during/after Yavin? In other words, how many of the people in the medal ceremony are theoretically retconnable as existing characters? Is there anyone else we know was there, but might not have been in the throne room?
Theoretically, there are so many Rebels at the medal ceremony that it is possible to retcon alot of folks being at Yavin Base. Most high profile Rebel leaders were not at Base One or stationed there, like Mon Mothma, Ackbar, Bel Iblis, etc. However, it is possible that any number of characters could of been assigned to Yavin following the destruction of the Death Star or visited it. A Rebel task force could visit, a new squadron be assigned, etc. --Adm. Nick
Quite a few of the pilots that later became Rogue Squadron members were present. But, when it comes down to prominent known Rebels, it is almost easier to list the folks we know were not there: Mon Mothma Ackbar Bel Iblis Carlist Rieekan Madine (hadn't defected yet) Tycho Celchu (joined the Rebellion following the evac of Yavin Base) Wes Janson (was supposed to be transfered to Yavin, but came down with illness) Borsk Fey'lya Sian Tevv Doman Beruss I just thought of these off the top of my head. I want to know 2 things, who was the Jedi on Corellia with Corran in Betrayal? I always think it was Waxarn Kel. I don't know why. And second, who the heck is Derek and why does he get to board the Millenium Falcon and shoot the turrets at the end of LotF?

Really wish a rock would've fallen on Voren or something. Guy's wrong so many times it's a wonder that he still has a job.

Roster threads, in the past, have always benefited from the singular drive of @Senator_Cilghal. Which is why I'm paging him. Bah, I've NEVER been happy with Galaxies making Pashna a Mon Cal. The name didn't fit, and have we ever seen a Mon Calamari go grey? Now to just get someone to listen to my "human adopted a fish and made him a 'Jr.'" retcon ... Oh, knock it off. It's not his fault that lackadaisical authors keep changing the universe around the poor fella. Though, actually, I find Voren and Arhul on Yavin to be one of the most forced of the retcons in Insider 133. Voren shouldn't have had to do so much research on the Battle of Yavin if he was THERE for it. (Not a word out of you, Jello, not a word! )

Winter was at Yavin as per one Topps Galaxy card showing her in a white dress during Yavin IV ceremony. also Classic SW and Marvel SW have a background character, unnamed, that looks like blonde Winter. And I think she got memories of Yavin IV even in some later novels by Zahn. Scoundrels though was said to have Winter in it and she in there is supposed to not know what happened/not having met Han before on Yavin IV.. how that jives with earlier continuity no idea yet since she sure must have seen him there.
Voren was at Yavin maybe but I bet he did not watch the battle and all with all those hot female Rebels around him.. the one the EU shows but the movies never did Guess Voren was hitting on Biggs girlfriend Nera Dantels as soon as he heard Biggs was shot down!
