That did not happen and will never happen you heretic.

EDIT 1: It also doesn't even make any sense.

EDIT 2: I've also only ever heard the beginning of that song but it's stupid, so I don't care to hear the rest.

Maybe god is actually just a plumber. You know, when you die you like, get to meet god, and you ask them about this complicated stuff and god's all "Look, I just fix the pipes, okay? Pass me that alligator wrench." And you pass god the alligator wrench and then there's just this awkward silence for a few minutes. Then Nietzsche says "I didn't mean you were really d-" and everyone just groans because oh my god Nietzsche we get it.

Maybe God exists and just doesn't care, and that's where free will comes from.

hey ramza iyho is there a scenario wherein omniscience and free will can exist within the same system? they do seem rather contradictory

I've always kind of liked Boethius' "solution" which basically boils down to god is extratemporal and consequently there's not really a good way to argue about whether or not its omniscience would interfere with free will because it always already sees everything. Naturally I am drawn to it because it is a fancy way of saying "Neener neener neener" and I'm not super fond of free will arguments because 9 times out of 10 they're really moral responsibility arguments dressed up to look impressive and broader than they actually want to be.

Exception: Sartre and his totally awesome metaphysical libertarianism. WOOOOOOO RADICAL FREEDOM!

I'd like to give up my free will in exchange for free beer. Is this the thread where I do that?
