ST Maz Kanata only in deleted scenes now?

It looks like her role was massively cut.


This reminds me of how some scenes in the PT trailers ended up being cut. And in the official ROTS poster, the outfit Padme is wearing was also a deleted scene.

 

Cinemablend cites the same source from the Sun, which was also reported in the Mirror.

Tabloid nonsense, as far as I'm concerned.

The source is The Sun. It's british tabloid. Utter nonsense. They made that 100% up because for click-bait.
If I can give you a good advice: Never believe anything that comes from The Sun. Pretend that this toilet paper does not exist.

If you're at all familiar with the production logs you'll see how critical her role is to the movie. Cutting 'several scenes' as The Sun claims would render the second act pretty meaningless. It isn't going to happen and I wouldn't be surprised if this ends in yet another of a very long list of climb downs and apologies to Lupita when their story is proven to be fake.

 

When was the last time The Sun published something that turned out to be accurate?

 

I think they sometimes publish winning lottery no.s the day after the draw.

Other than that...

 

The theatrical cut of the film shows Han and co walking into Maz's castle and then cuts directly to a scene of them watching it get destroyed by TIE fighters.

And the Oscar for best editing goes to --- THE FORCE AWAKENS!

 

Before making the thread, you should have vetted the source a bit. It is rubbish.

 

I know that we read way too far into things around here, but there is absolutely no need to make things up. Not even those rumors insist in any way that she was completely cut out of the movie and relegated to deleted scenes.
