Meet #27 | | Dual Hang Out

Where: DarthLucanas' (Chris') House

When: March 13th, Sunday 1 P.M.

What: Rebels and Squadron having a good time relaxing at Chris', having some pizza, watching some movies, playing some games.

Time says 1:00 but feel free to show up earlier. For those coming from Boston, a train leaves the station at 11:20. There will be someeone to pick you up. Probably me =)

We'll be ordering some pizza. Lets try to bring some soda or some snacks of the yummy percuasion, please. Let me know what you want to bring.

If you need directions to Chris let either him or I know please.

Expect me there w/ a friend, Chris. My friend will be driving, so expect a PM from me about it when the meet thread goes up on the Boston board.

 

Can folks who will be attending please post here, so Chris knows how many to expect. Also if you plan on bringing any goodies post here as well.

I'll be bringing a couple of bottles of soda.

 

I'll try to keep the two threads updated with the same info so there isn't any confusion, that way people don't have to worry about posting in two different places.

 

I'll be there I'll see what I can scrounge up to bring.

Anyone feel like trying out the new mini-RPG game? I figured we've collected enough of them we may as well figure out how to play! LOL

 

What's this mini-RPG game?

 

The Wizards of the Coast minis. Jeff gave me some of them at the Secret Santa meeting/party at Borders. It's sort of like Epic Duels I think.

 

Great idea Meri! I'd love to try to play. I got a whole bunch here, and I've been wanting to learn for quite some time.

EDIT: What might be fun is if we pick up 1 or 2 booster packs (with all interested people chipping in for the cost), and then randomly distribute them so everyone can leave with a new piece or two. We could shuffle the cards and draw them out of a hat or something. I don't know, just an idea.

 

I already have a bunch of the minis that people can use so save your money.

And then give it all to me.

 

Well it's not so much that we'd be worrying about people not having pieces to play with, I just thought it might be a fun thing to do. The booster packs are kind of expensive but if we say bought 1 and split it 4 or 5 ways, the cost would only be a couple (or a few) bucks. It would be like a mini-raffle for the minis. Just a fun thing to do that wouldn't be very expensive. It's always fun to "win" something. But if no one else is interested, that's fine. Just an idea.

 

I think I can come... I might be visiting my friend that weekend who lives in Massachussetts so I maybe I can take the T with other peoples? I don't know where Chris lives but I would either need to get off at South Attleboro to get my car and drive or be able to get to my car somehow. Does that make sense?

I think the miniraffle idea is cute. I don't have any, nor do I know how to play, but it's a fun idea!

 

Lisa you can either ride with me or follow me in your car to chris'.

I'm game for some mini game action. Have to try out my chewbacca. between everyone who has been collecting them we'll have enough for all to play it sounds.

I won't have time to go out and pick up a minis booster pack for the mini-raffle idea, but we can keep that in mind for a future meet. Hopefully by then we'll all know how to play!

Had a fun time at the meet yesterday.

Good round of Epic Duels as usual.

Thanks to everyone who brought stuff and pitched in money for the pizza.

Jeff and I later played a tournament of Epic Duels.

This is what we did.

*We both picked two sets of characters per player at random.
*We palyed until there was only one charcter left.
*After that round was complete. We put those characters cards out of play and the both picked 2 new sets of characters.

We palyed until no charcters were left.
Needless to say Jeff won the tournament 2-1!!!



Look forward to see who else will be signed for the CaulronCon coming up.

I would need more information on this event as I was not able to hear all the information due to taking care of guests arriving.

The flyer was nice but I need more info on what you get with the admission price?

And what are the additional costs outside of the admission?

I am sure more information will be available soon.

Sorry I couldn't stay very long but I did have a great time! It was so nice to see everyone again. I find it sad that we only see each other once a month, twice a month at best. We always seem to have such a good time! I am also looking forward to more information on the convention so I can hopefully make my summer road trip (rhode trip? yeah yeah I know, bad joke! ) to Rhode Island and Massachussetts.

Thanks for hosting, Chris! You were an excellent host and it was great of you to open your home to us!

The organizer of the "CauldronCon" convention, which is set for Aug. 12-14 at the Sheraton Ferncroft Resort Hotel in Danvers, was at the meet Sunday pitching the opportunity to help her staff the event. Peter Mayhew and Jeremy Bulloch are already confirmed to appear at CauldronCon, so there should be interest among us.
