    i've heard it's quite expensive.

i'm not sure a poor student type like myself could afford it.

I think there is one in Exeter -I'm not sure how good it is there though.

EDIT-There is this one don't know if everyone could get to it though?

There are at least two paintballing facilities within 20 miles of Plymouth...

Sparkwell, and the one by Newton Abbot Trago Mills... however, it is very expensive.

Right. I think it's about time we arranged a meet, preferably before the Honiton Conference. Any ideas or suggestions?

Possibly a shopping trip to Exeter, or people can come to Plymouth. If we get enough notice then me and Stuey can plan something interesting to do... :D

    Comments please!

I like Plymouth but then I am not coming to your meet! :p

I had a couple of holidays down in Plymouth, which were very nice. Its a great base for exploring the rest of Devon and of course over the border into Cornwall.

I've stayed in Exeter as well and been there a few times. I'd probably say Exeter is the nicer city but Plymouth has a lot more to do :) Plus its got the National Marine Aquarium, which is absolutely fab :)

    i have nothing against plymouth.

i've heard there's a war bunker near the university somewhere.

i wanna go check it out.

I've never been to the Aquarium actually, i suppose because it's so close i put it off. It could also have something to do with the fact my local star wars shop (with an owner that gives me discount) is right around the corner :D

I was up by the uni earlier today AOS and i can't say i'm familiar with such a bunker, but then again i am totally useless and i think we should have a meet here to search for it :p

Plymouth was extremely badly damaged during WWII, the city centre being completely devestated during the Blitz. Unfortunately as with most postwar rebuilds the didn't make a particularly attractive job of it!

I didn't know there was still an old war bunker there though. Where abouts is the University?

it's hard to describe where it is (partly because i'm useless at geography, partly because i have no idea what level of knowledge you have of the city) but it's sort of at the top of the town

and yes, they building look terrible because of the cheap rebuilding after the war. They're planning to tear down alot of the areas like that soon, sadly one such area contains 'Purple Haze' local distributer of star wars, comics and music with a Hendrix flavour

Is the old Drake Odeon still in Plymouth? I saw Saving Private Ryan there but last time I went it had been closed.

And "Purple Haze" is that a shop just off Armada Way? I remember popping into a comic shop down there and I am sure that was what it was called.

yep, thats where Purple haze is. the uni is about a 2 minute walk to the left of it.

The odeon has been torn down and is being replaced by a Hotel. It couldn't compete with the new Warner Village complex just on the outskirts (where i saw AOTC 8 times, ahhh)

Very interesting AOS, but it would be nice if they could stop telling us how hard it is to find and start tellings us where it is... I'll ask around.
