I -Upcoming Events

- January 11, 2004 6PM -Carrie Fisher book signing, reading and talk at Coliseum Books in Manhattan -- Not a Star Wars or official club event but some of us will meet there.

-January 21-29 - Auditions for Johnny Nod's fan film 'Tremors of the Force' at Harlequin studios in Times Square, Manhattan. Let the club know in case anyone wants to act in the film. Just show up for the auditions - no pre-sign ups needed.

- Icon-24 -- April 8-10, 2004 Discussed a fan club table and ideas for club promotion an ICON. Kevin offered his 36" Ewok and glass case. Have a target and let people shoot a suction cup gun (Kevin supplies) at it for prizes like action figures, AeroSith DVD,books, (Billy gathering up). Prizes awarded for end of the day high scorer. Other table materials needed: TV (Dana), DVD player (Chris), Magnetic Scoreboard (Dana), AeroSith display, flyers for table, and new club banner (worked on by Moorglade and Steven).
Table will be set up on Friday 4/8 by Dana and Ark.
Waiting for reply from ICON about AeroSith being most suited to perform at The Masquerade or a return to the Cabaret. More to be discussed at future meetings.
Peter Mayhew is a guest at ICON. Working on making contact with him for a possible fan club dinner on Friday 4/8 at McGuire's in Bohemia near hotel.

-- Celebration III (Star Wars official con) Indianapolis, IN, Thurs - Sunday, April 21-25 2005 -- Not an official club event but some of us will meet there.

-- SW Holiday Special Party #4 -- Were waiting for the City Rep to decide on a suitable location. Due to the popularity and number of guests, the party has outgrown our past locations.

-- SW Episode III movie release week.(Movie opens on 5/19/2005) DB516 would like to host a theater on Long Island. Ark will write a proposal to Island 16 In Holtsville for DB516. Tim also may be able to provide radio - media promotion as an incentive to the theater letting us get involved. He will report back on what options are available. We discussed having a table at the theater to promote the club.

-- MEPAs "StarWars Day with the Newark (NJ) Bears Baseball team.? - May 14, 2005 at 6 PM -- DB516 has volunteered and is looking forward to being involved in costumes, playing a mock game and in the entertainment activities. DB516 is awaiting confirmation of our participation.

-- CRESLI Seal Walks at Montauk State Park on Long Island -- Club event being planned. More to be discussed on message boards

II - Meeting Dates -- Meetings are always on SECOND SUNDAY of every month at the same location. Next meeting # 28 date February 13, 2005. Meeting # 29 - March 13, 2005.
Exception: Meeting #30 will be at ICON on April 10, 2005 and Meeting # 31 will not be on Mothers day but on SATURDAY May 7, 2005 The schedule will stand and will be reassessed each meeting by the President and City Rep.


III - Club Business
Finances -- The Treasurer reported on the treasury and collected dues for expenses need for the ICON convention in which we will have a fan club table. Another expense coming soon is the DB516 domain name for the web site. Dues were collected
Legal stuff -- Adopted policy on underage members. Document will be posted on DB516?s web site.

IV - Charities -- Ark 3 let the club know about MEPA?s charity auction and their Charity Bowl-A-Thon and that we have been invited to participate.
Chris reported on DB516?s donations to Kisses For Katy.
Fan Force Legal Issues -- Ark3 presented to the group a written policy concerning minors as club members, attending meeting and events and what legal responsibility the club has.

Just to clarify, the Event Attendance Policy has not been adopted yet. I've posted the current version of the policy to our mailing list for review and feedback. I will present an updated version on Feb 1 if necessary. Otherwise, the document as it stands will adopted on that day, and we'll take care of putting it up on our website and our sticky thread here.
