Wash, DC Meeting: August 16

Hahaha, I came close to posting a He-man reference, but I think I used that the last time someone pointed out that I have the power.

 

but you DO have the power. only you can announce meetings. well unless you are unable. then I have the power. but I don't want it.

 

I am powerless and very happy about it.

Well, other than SB, would anyone else seriously like to attend the airshow? You can trust that any questions there are about aircraft, I'll know the answers and then some! Basically, because I know it all, and thats not an exaggeration (sp?)!

 

My question is this: do Valerie's pants change color when she uses her Power?

I can't make the 16th, but I'll send Ken in my stead. He can certainly answer any DragonCon questions, and tell everyone where to go to help us move. Hee.

I found an event we could do on the 16th that also benefits NIH charities. The following is from TheOneRing.Net:

"For fans in the Washington, DC area, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is sponsoring a *free* big-screen, outdoor showing of FOTR on August 16 at Strathmore Hall. Local restaurants & vendors will be selling food and proceeds will benefit the NIH Charities."

Admission is free, there will be food vendors on-site (where the proceeds go to NIH). There is a concert at 7pm and the movie starts at 830pm.

 

I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark at this last year.

 

Heather, Liz and I also saw Raiders last year. This might be a good idea.

Not to imply that your other ideas aren't good, but this idea has the magic words: LOTR. Hehehehe.

It's kinda funny because we tried to get a group together for Raiders last year. Ended up being just me, Heather and Liz. Must have missed Ric!

 

Well, if you smote us with your omnipotent powers and declare we have our meeting here, then I shall participate.

Looks like I will there with a friend for LOTR. That means if there is a meeting there I will be able to make it.

 

Cool. I'll give it another day or two to see what everyone else thinks.

 

I think it's a cool idea.
I've already got some plans for the 16th, to spend time with a dear friend I haven't spent much time with the last couple years. But if my friend is up for it, I might go to the FOTR showing.

are we going to have a meeting before hand, cause i prberly have to work that night, so i won't be able to see the show.

 

The actual meeting would definitely be before the movie. If we're going to do this, we need to come up with a good place to meet up... If I remember correctly, it was a bit of a zoo last year.
