San Joaquin, CA Meeting Minutes For October and November

Minutes of the Order of the Twin Suns for October 28, 2005.

Meeting was called to order at 8:43 pm due to most members dressing in costume in honor of Halloween.

Tarah, Jerry, and Jeanette were absent.

The minutes from the last meeting were approved.

The meeting began with Bette stating that she will send out copies of the By-Laws to members and they can read them and then vote upon their acceptance. The Emperor moved to approve the By-Laws. Done.
There was talk of FIDM and special costume but unsure at this time. It was suggested that on the next trip to FIDM for the Star Wars Fan Day 2, that we use the underground parking after what happened on the last trip. None of our cars are likely to be towed illegally if we do this.
The FF groups at IGN appeared to enjoy our company and there is talk of getting together again for a little sabre practice. Perhaps at Griffith Park when the weather becomes better.

Barry reported that the treasury had $46.00 but $10.00 was owed to Cheryl for shipping charges. The balance left was $36.00.

Josh reported that he has been paying the monthly fee for our website which is a cost of about $6.00 per month. It is felt that the club should pay these fees but there is also the possibility that Derek might be able to add our site to his server. He will look in on this option. Also Derek may be taking over the website. He spoke of adding private forms that would only be open to members.
Derek has also made us membership cards and had asked us to fill out forms which he will use for the creation of a "Blister card." Derek is trying to put a map together of our locale as seen from space.

Harry Potter opens on November 18th and we will be needed at the theatre that Thursday and work through the weekend.

In the works for upcoming events we have 8 members planning on attending LosCon and 1 other possible. We have two rooms reserved at the hotel. 7 people are on the list to attend WonderCon. And due to a misunderstanding about dates with the uppermanagement,corperate not local, at Borders we were unable to do the promo for the Episode III DVD release.

Several of our members will be going to Kearney Park for the Renaissance Faire in November and plan on camping on site.

Halloween celebration and seeing our Emperor set himself on fire will take place at Cheryl's home on Halloween.

Bette found out from someone at IGN about a company that will make banners for about $40.00 plus tax. We have been told that we are welcome to hang our banner along with SDSWS at future events.

Finally we were introduced to Mrs Fett.

Meeting adjourned at 9:30 pm

A good time was had and we never really left for another hour.
