Meeting Reminder

Just a reminder of the June meeting:

Meeting of the Killeen Fan Force

Location: Irish Dragoon Pub, in the Killeen Mall

Directions: From Interstate 35, head WEST towards KILLEEN and FT HOOD using HWY 190, from there EXIT WS YOUNG. On your right will be the Killeen Mall, can't miss it. Travel around to the North side of the mall, by BEALLS department store. You will see the pub next to the main entrance to the mall. Many places to park.

Ideas for future appearances

LOL. That must be a bad day for everyone... Me and the kids can't make it, either.

 

Since so many cannot make the June meeting, these are the items we are going to discuss that need immediate imput.

Should we have the July meeting the first saturday, as scheduled? The first saturday is July 2nd, smack in the middle of a holiday weekend.

The next items need imput pretty quickly.
1. A contest to design a banner for us on the Jedi Council Forum board. Right now ours just says Mid-South. I would like to see something that says Star Academy. Not sure if we can put the Killeen in it. Check out the Waco groups banner. It says Bounty Hunter Guild.

2. A contest for a poster that we can put up on an easel that has all our info on it that we can use at personal appearances that won't let us do flyers. A 2nd poster of the same design would be on display at the Irish Dragoon Pub.

3. A contest to design a flyer for us to use at personal appearances and an alternative one for the places that don't allow "papering"

4. A contest to design a business card for us.

Everything else on the agenda is just updates, so we can handle that at the meeting.

If there are enough materials left from the "48 Hours of the Force" that we are not going to sell on E-Bay we could use those as prizes.

 

Regarding the banner for the JCF board, why not use the banner from our website that Paul did. It looks really nice!

 

I have no problem with that. *S* Hadn't thought of it actually. Good catch Jim. *S* but we would still need a left side panel to go with it.

 

are these contests open to the general public, members of *any* FanForce group, or just members of OUR group?

 

Good question.

My personal opinion is why would someone want to enter a contest about star wars, with star wars materials as prizes, if they were not a fan? I see no reason that the contest shouldn't be open to anyone who has signed up for the Jedi Council Forums.

BUT... I'm not the only one in this club, so ya'll let me know what you think.

Contest will end with the July meeting.

 

It was not clear if we were having a meeting yesterday, so I went to the Irish Dragoon Pub at the Killeen Mall anyway and and no one showed up. I was there to represent our Chapter and there were no new members that came either. Otherwise I had a good lunch there.
