    ...and it's a wonderful feeling.[face_dancing]
Loving that Casino interior, really does remind me of...
[IMG] I was surprised by the extent to which they pushed the 'this one is very different' narrative though. If TLJ really does "create new rules" for the Star Wars universe, as Adam Driver said, then it will be interesting to see how fandom reacts to this movie. Who will be on board with the change, and who will resent it.

    1. The scenes on Wobani, Kafrene, and Bodhi's capture by Saw Gerrera's partisans, as well as the second conference scene (with all the senators) are all re-shoot sequences.
The battle of Scarif was supposedly shortened and heavily restructured. Jyn and Cassian climbing the data tower was a re-shoot sequence, as was Bodhi plugging in the master switch.
A lot more footage of the beach fight, and Saw (on Jedha?), are rumoured to exist, than what appears in the final cut of the film.

    2. True. The reshoot director was Tony Gilroy. Although it should be noted that the Darth Vader corridor sequence, which was also a pick-up, is Edward's work.

    3. IMO Gilroy does a pretty neat job of matching Edward's style, so its actually pretty difficult to tell which scenes were shot by which director, unless you know there were two. Although I guess you'll have to watch the movie and form your own opinion about that.:)

    Edit:
Do we know that it was Disney? Just asking, that's all.

    TLJ synopsis.

Learning more about the Force? Yes please. Though I can't say I like twists that exist just to shock the audience.
What's weird about it is that it happened a few hours after he posted the last one where he talked about Revenge of the Sith and the actors behaviors toward Star Wars. [face_thinking]

Blast it! I hadn't read his last few entries yet.
What did he say about the actors' behaviors? Anything controversial?

I'm spoiler free for TLJ, but the comments in here are really raising my expectations. I wanna see this movie nooooooow :_|

Again it's just his own views so maybe it's not completely accurate but it's how he felt.

No, but stuff that could be taken out of context for clickbait purposes. Still, the fact that he didn't just delete his last entry but has shut down his whole blog implies that this is the work of a "bigger fish" (our mouse).

So Disney shut his blog down because they didn't want negative press on ROTS, very interesting.;)

They probably want to avoid all sorts of controversy if possible. Anything that is damaging to public perception of a Star Wars film, or trilogy, is potentially damaging to their profits.

Thanks a lot! A very interesting read!

Not ROTS in particular (they could care less), but SW itself. They probably wouldn't be too happy about where the blog was headed as well (TFA).

It seems likely to me that Rinzler has been contacted by Disney's attorneys and put everything Star Wars related on hold until the matter has been settled, to avoid making things worse.

Well can't see much there that would cause the blog to be shut down per-se.

Ewan could be a grumpy sod, Natalie could be "difficult" , Hayden was enthusiastic... But found it difficult playing Anakin as Lucas wanted him to play him. The actors were generally disdainful of Lucas and his directing "abilities" etc...

All interesting tidbit's but twelve years on since ROTS was released nothing that you'd say was especially shocking or couldn't be deduced by comments from the actors at the time.

My guess is that Disney are just concerned with the general direction of the JW's Blog, which is clearly going to be an honest, truthful and transparent account of his years working for LFL - Warts and all. Which when we get to the sale and TFA is clearly going to present a LOT of information into the public domain that Disney would rather not have in the public domain...

I would be surprised if JW had embarked on this Blog without checking out his legal position first (as soon as I read the tone of his first entry I knew it was going to be "dynamite" for the SW community) Unless he signed confidentiality agreements as part of his contract its difficult to see on what grounds Disney have pulled the plug...

Even if he did sign confidentiality agreements as part of his employment at LFL as he is no longer a LFL employee I'm not sure whether those agreement would have much legal credibility now. I guess we'll find out what's happening in due course.

Yeah, doesn't seem like any shocking new info there to me. McGregor acting like he's too cool for school is hardly surprising, and that bit about Christensen thinking Anakin should be more emotionally raw earlier on has been talked about before. Seems weird to pull just based on that specific content. I agree it's probably an overall issue. I'm sure there's a lot of TFA behind the scenes stuff that would be great PR, but then again there's also Ford's injury there for instance.

Yeah probably on overall issue. Gotta control the narrative I suppose but now I fear we're going to get the sugar-coated version of things where they gloss over the problems and only talk about the positive side of things which can be boring.

Yeah, I mean McGregor getting more frustrated as the prequels went along is well known already, as is Hayden wanting to portray Anakin differently (at least that was the case in AOTC--I always had the impression he got to do the things he anticipated doing in ROTS). I think the blog shut down is more because Lucasfilm doesn't want anyone dishing on the company in an unauthorized blog.

I'd watch this space because I have a feeling the Blog may be back online in due course...

I'm sure they don't... But quite what legal rights they have here I'm unclear about. Just because Disney has a certain position about something doesn't mean the whole world has to dance to their tune...

Hopefully JW sought legal council before he embarked on this endeavor (I'd be amazed if he hadn't) and he'll be able to prove he has the legal right to tell his story. In which case the Blog could return in due course...

Well judging by the excerpt shown previously, there seems to be an attempt to form a narrative from things that actors and crew have said. But almost every quote is accompanied with a disclaimer that the person quoted wasn't alluding to the narrative that their quote is being used to allude to. I can understand if LFL want a bit of clarity regarding the author's intentions.

If he is still working for LFL, he needs to be careful what he says if he wants to keep his job.

I remember reading in the comments that he was going to give his own opinion on why the making of book has been indefinitely delayed.
