JCC Megaupload shut down on MPAA whim, Anonymous retaliates.

Cold comfort to those who lost all their files on Megaupload forever.

 

So people put their files on Megaupload and delete them off their hard-drives?

Anyway, the files exist, they may well have to be made accessible again, legally.

 

I know of a few who did just that jp. Of course the tale of MegaUpload is a good example of why, even though I back up a lot of my files on various drives, I haven't jumped into the online cloud hosting. Even though I'd make sure I had hardcopies, I think I'd be more than a little upset if I found that for whatever reason, a company had shut down and deleted all my files.

Anyway, last I heard several people who had files on MegaUpload are negotiating with the site's host, so hopefully there'll be some resolution where most users can retrieve their data.

They should make some sort of Darwin award for the people lost their files that way.

 

Reminds me of the people on the temp boards who whined that they couldn't access their fanfiction which was ONLY saved here on the boards.
