Det, MI Member Introduction thread.

Hey everyone. I have not been able to make any of the meetings as of yet so I thought maybe having a intro thread might help the members that have not made a meeting or might be alittle shy to come out to one. So I'll start with myself.

I am a recent Veteran from the United States Navy. I curently live in Macomb, Michigan, but the majority of my duty stations were in Virginia.

In 2001 I started the "Tidewater Alliance" fanforce of Hampton Roads Virginia, along with two great friends, and was the Chapter Rep from 2001 until 2010 upon me leaving the state and moving back to Michigan.

I love costuming, making prop replicas, and just talking about Star Wars.

I would love to be a part of the group, but time constraints are frustrating at the moment.
I do hope to make the next meeting and meet you all. So here is to hoping that will happen sometime soon.

I do have a question for you guys

Does anyone in the group do costuming?

I am currently in the process of making Boba Fett. I have had some setbacks (jetpack breaking, ect)

This thread was an excellent idea,jk88.A couple of comments on your post.First,thank you for your service to our country and second,you mentioned time constraints being an obstacle to attending meetings.Is there anything we can do to help with that?Is there another day/time that might be better?If so,let us know,maybe we can work something out.

Okay,a little about myself as well.I was one of the founding members of R2-Detroit way back in 2002.I also helped start a FF in Ann Arbor.I had been away from R2 for some time,but am happy to be working with the group again.In addition to Fan Force,I have also been an active member of the Michigan Archaeological Society since 2003 and currently hold a Trustee's position with that group.

My primary interest in SW has always been the movies themselves,although once in a while I may dabble in the EU.I have done some costuming but have not done so in years and honestly,I just sort of lost interest in it,I guess.I used to costume as Ep.II Anakin and a ROTJ Luke on occasion and I also built the lightsabers that I used for those costumes.

 

My primary interest is also the movies. Also like c3500BC I do go into some of the EU. Out side of Star Wars I enjoy World of Warcraft Metal music and most fantasy stuff.
