Men of the JCC: man up... and tell us which movies have reduced you to tears. I will then judge whether or not mancard revocation is in order.

Field of Dreams did it for me.

Both of those were really good films, though I haven't seen "Powder" in years. "Field of Dreams" is such a wonderful story, and I relate to it because my father left before I was born. That's also one reason why "Back to the Future" matters so much to me, because the idea of changing that for the better still touches my heart.

Another that I truly love is "Phenomenon", because it deals with a man who suddenly finds himself rejected without completely understanding why. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome last year, and have known I was somehow "different" since childhood. Finally having a name for it helps me to realize I'm not crazy or stupid.

    Let's see...

    - Leonard Part 6
    - Plan 9 from Outer Space
    - Highlander 2
    - Kazaam
    - Space Jam...

...oh, you meant movies that made me cry due to pathos, not patheticness.

EDIT: All right, all seriousness now...

    - Most of the old Biblical epics still get me going.
    - The Patriot (DADDY! DADDY! I'LL SAY ANYTHING YOU WANT, JUST DON'T GO!)
    - The end of Armaggeddon
    - Apollo 13
    - Shawshank Redemption
    - The Karate Kid (the remake)
    - Man of Steel. Yes, I did, and so did you when Kevin Costner said "You are my son!", **** you.
    - Schindlers List
    - Unbreakable (the boy's faith in his Dad tugged at me hard).
    - Transformers (the original 1989 movie. Admit it, this movie is why Optimus Prime dying remains a required scene in every Transformers show since then.)

Way too many. Heading the list are Goodbye Lenin and Schindler's List and, of course, that damned intro to Up.

Yeah, that intro to Up got me. And the two-part ending of Toy Story 3 too. It's been a long time since I saw Schindler's List, but I'm sure that was another.

Oh, yes, I still can't watch E.T. without feeling my throat getting sore when the damned bikes start flying. :p It's another kind of cry, though, one of joy. What does the man card code say about that, Mort?

The last time I watched The Fisher King, I cried like a tiny angry baby. Particularly the scene where Perry professes his love for Lydia on her doorstep. Bawled.

I had to call a Wahhhmbulance.

Field of Dreams would definitely be at the top of the list, and deservedly so.

Hotel Rwanda, Big Fish, The Lion King and Gattaca are the ones I can recall.

Edit: Adam of Nuchtern reminded me of Pan's Labyrinth.

I have particular issues with father/child scenes, so...

    Armageddon
    Field of Dreams
    Deep Impact

and the like always make the dp4m household a bit dusty.

    Other things...

    Titanic
    Les Miserables
    E.T.
    Dumbo

And, of course, in Mallrats when Willem finally learns he will get to see the sailboat.

For what? It's not like I confess that I could cry at Pitch Perfect or 27 Dresse--- crap.

BTW - for Titanic it's right at the very end, when she dies and ends up back on the ship -- not for the stuff prior.
