I got the same haul in 1992.

 

I got a rock.

 

The usual shirts and socks, a nice pair of deerskin workgloves, and my grandfather's antique cuckoo clock from the Black Forest in Germany.

I got nothing.

 

I just bought my first cell phone today. I used my x-mass bonus. Yes JCC my 1st smart phone. Don't have a clue how it works but with some time I will figure it out. I also got new bedding. Scrambles the cat has taken a liking to it.

On a related note, what was the best gift you gave this year?

Mine was kind of unexpected. A few weeks ago, Mom said something that reminded me of something else she had said years and years ago about wanting a battle axe. I have no idea why she said that; Mom is one of the most gentle people ever. Since I had a battle axe gathering dust on my wall, I boxed it up and gave it to her. She loved it. And she remembers that she wanted one, but doesn't remember why.

 

For Christmas, I got annoyed. I seriously don't get the whole family get-together, socializing thing. I basically spent two days and a lot of gas sitting, eating, and having to endure cable marathons of whatever on every channel.

 

So you prefer not to give but to receive, then.

I hate getting christmas presents for brother in laws. All the time its a tool box and/or tools. Seriously I think theyve had enough of tools for the garage.

Time to give them something different for a change. good grief. I hate tools. I never use tools.
