Because Corey Dee Williams was Billy's stunt double (and a couple of skiff guards I think) in ROTJ.

Wait, so people actually saw Vader die, they saw his body burned, they saw his ghost even....yet they can't believe Sidious who just fell MIGHT be alive?

If he "just fell," what was the explosion of dark side energy? Did he just have really, really bad force farts? :p

It's not "dark side energy". The blue energy effect that appears when Palpatine dies:

Is the exact same effect that's used on the force-field that surrounds the core of the Death Star:

Basically Palpatine fell into a giant bug zapper, and was immediately vaporized when he hit the field surrounding the core of the Death Star. The explosion of energy was the result of his Force Lightening reacting with the force-field when he slammed into it.

    Palpatine is DEAD.

Question: "So...what exactly is that blue stuff that we see coming up from the chasm into which the Emperor is thrown by Vader at the end of RotJ? We didn't see a body. Did Palps really die? I mean, Maul was even cut in half and fell down a chasm and he came back."

Pablo Hidalgo: "This is just my opinion as a fan, but given that the same blue-laser scan effect was used by ILM as a nimbus around the reactor core, I always took it to mean the phenomenon was related. And I always subscribed to the idea that he died. But I'm no coroner or reactor tech. How's that for a non-answer?"

Yes, Palpatine "died". However, since Vader redeemed himself and saved Luke out of love, this created the oldest of force-magic charms, protecting Luke from the force lightning, but also fusing a part of Palpy's soul with Luke's. Since part of Palpatine's soul resides in Luke, this explains Luke going darkside in VII and fulfills the prophecy: Either must die at the hand of the other, for either can live while the other survives.

Sorry, monthly HP marathon on ABC Family...getting my stories crossed.

Good eye and plausible interpretation. However I don't think it's so definitive. There's no official explanation in the film. The Emperor falls, there's an explosion, and the audience is left to come to its own conclusions. Here's what the script says:

    http://www.scifiscripts.com/scripts/revengeofthejedi.txt

This corresponds to the film, when the Emperor's body explodes causing a gust of air. When I first saw the film my reaction was this was because the Emperor was so devoted to the dark side and had consolidated so much of its power over centuries of evil deeds, that when he died his body was basically a dark force bomb, releasing a huge burst of it almost as a final "**** you" to the universe and whoever killed him. Anyway that's my interpretation. ;)

Well, we all know the second Death Star was powered by blue milk, hence the blue energy fields given off by the reactor and when Palpatine dies. Wookiepedia says blue milk comes from the mammary glands, hence in EPVII, we will see Palpatine reincarnated as a Bantha. An evil, cyborg Bantha .

Love the leaked artwork! The shot in the cave that looks likes a throne room is very cool.

So is that Luke sitting on the throne? That looks like a jedi outfit to me.

Jedi and Sith robes do have a tendency to look really similar in wide shots, wouldn't take that as Luke proof. My guesses are A) Plagueis B) New baddie C) Resurrected Palpatine. Although, I think resurrected Palpatine may be the end game of the baddies, not something that happened off screen. More like "Goblet of Fire" third act Palpy resurrection.

Even if the fall didn't kill him, I think the death star exploding around him would.

I too, have been gone for a while, and I come back to this!?!?! Crazy. Awesome. Amazing.

One thing though - has anyone got/posted these images in a larger size/format? Mf.com's ones are tiny and image shack seem to have deleted the ones posted here..

Edit: Scratch that, some creative googleing has solved the problem.
