I'm going the 19th with a friend(s) wearing my kimono, and I think my friend was plotting to wear her 'bathrobe' kimono, or some dressy thingie she is thinking of buying off someone. Makeup and hair are going to be a treat for me lol.

The festival starts Aug. 19 & 20th weekend. Here are the themes for the weekends...
    8/19 & 20, Buccaneer Beer Fest
    8/26-27, Highland Fling
    9/2,3,4, High Seas Adventure
    9/9-10, Wine, Romance & Song
    9/16 & 17, Wonders of the World
    9/23 & 24, Shamrocks & Shenanigans
    9/30-10/1, Sweet Endings
    It's open 10am to 7pm
We would normally go to the Highland Fling weekend, being that our garb is Scottish, but we can't do that weekend this time.
So, I was thinking the Irish weekend would be fun--Shamrocks and Shenanigans...either Saturday or Sunday. The weather might be a bit cooler by then, too, which is more conducive for wearing garb. How do those dates look for you?

I'll be there every weekend, with the possible painful exception of the 19&20th. Just fill me in on when everyone's getting together.

We might be able to do that weekend. It's a matter of finding out what Jon is up to. It sure would be nice to have cooler weather to costume (or would that be garb?) in. ;)

Mike--are you working at the Festival or just really like going?
    Susie--sounds good!
    So, Jon--how is that weekend?
    Anyone else interested?
We didn't get to go last year, I think maybe I was in the hospital at the time...so I am looking forward to being able to go:)

What about September 16 & 17th weekend then? The theme is Wonders of the World. I don't see anything on our calendar for that weekend yet.
I really don't like going the last weekend of Faire, if that is going to be the one time I get out there, because the people that work there are usually all kind of sad that it's ending and you pick up on that vibe.

That might be a fun weekend. TK465 mentioned to me that his wife needed help kidnapping the queen and could use the aid of some of the infamous "white knights". We could do the festival and then go back and change into armor for a bit ....

Don't hang out with those people ;)

Believe me, there was a greater number of us who were in full-on party mode on Final Weekend. We drowned out the melodramatic saps. Plus, that's when one can hang out at the Pub after hours and no one's left to kick out non-participants, because all of security is too busy stripping out of garb and trying to get that last cider, Harps, or Guinness before the Pub employees pack it in.

Oh no, I'm not working there. It'd be awesome to do so, but I'm too lazy to go through the channels. Much rather just show up, wear the garb, and drink the beer. :D

So the 16th and 17th then?

Hey, Mike--I hear ya--I would rather just be "turkeys with dressing" as the rennies like to call us folks who garb but don't work there:) I worked at the Michigan Ren Faire interpreting shows one weekend and that was pretty exhausting--not to mention a TRIP trying to interpret for Don Juan & Miguel (I miss them!)

The 16th or 17th September sound good to me. Shall we post a list of who is planning to go and decide if Sat. or Sun. will work better???

Despite the evil rain yesterday my group still went. We dared the rain, got soaked, we plundered, and had fun. ^_^

My highlight of the day was when some older gentlemen that ran the shops questioned me why the Geshia outfit and than insisted he 'escort me' around. lol
Didn't get to enjoy any of the beer sadly missed that since by the time I was able to run away and discover the area it was time to be hitting the road and I was driving.
I manged to find one Jack Sparrow 30% that sorta looked like, but while I was off trying to find the rum it would seem I missed the better looking Sparrow!:_|

All get pictures up later today.

I would like to maybe try and make the 17th one, makes me wish I still had my Samurai grab. I find 'cross-playing' more fun and less time consumeing to do(no makeup!). [face_mischief]
