Absolutely love both, but I'm picking TCW for the greater quantity and variety. The micro series has less wrong with it, which to me is natural since it's so much shorter, but despite having disappointed me much more on occasion, TCW has also blown my Star Wars mind in ways the micro series didn't time and time again, so overall I have to go with TCW. Honestly, if there were only a couple hours worth of TCW and as much micro series as we have of TCW, I'd likely be picking the micro series for the same exact reasons. But I can't emphasize enough that I think both are great, and I think the two Clone Wars series combined make for a better and more interesting back-story to the OT than the PT does, and manages to do so without giving away the big secret of the Ep. V climax ahead of time.
TCW of course, there's much more of it and it's just amazing, but I really enjoyed the micro series too.
The only reason I went with the 2003 show is because i grew up on it in elementary school. Its just more nostalgic. But there are several things I've really liked about TCW (Mortis, Maul, etc)
I don't disagree, but when the one with much greater quantity is occasionally also of greater quality despite not being so consistently it becomes a more complicated question.
Not necessarily, at least not in literal terms. Think about it. TCW is many, many times longer than the micro series. It's entirely plausible for the micro series to be of a consistently higher quality, while say if 10% - 20% of TCW is better than the micro series, that could easily amount to a larger length of time than the entire micro series. The whole micro series is only two hours or 120 minutes. 100 episodes of TCW which we're about to hit multiplied by 22 minutes equals 2200 minutes, ten percent of which is 220 minutes. So even if only 10% of TCW is better than the micro series, that's almost twice as much Star Wars as the entire micro series, 220 minutes to 120 minutes.
i don´t believe that we are having that discussion.... comparing TCW (aka Floni´s fanon series) with the Tartakovsky master piece?? REALLY????
Filoni's fanon series? Have you ever looked into the development of TCW and the involvement of this guy named George Lucas you may have heard of? Most of the episodes I'd include in my top 10% of TCW I know George Lucas came up with the idea for because it's been discussed in various interviews. Dave Filoni is the Gary Kurtz or Rick McCallum of TCW, it's still George Lucas at the helm. As much as I like the idea of Ep. II as McCallum's fanon...
As far as I'm concerned, if George Lucas is in charge, it's not someone else's fanon. And he is. I don't get the fascination with pretending he's not.
its not really comparable lol.... thats like saying just because one show has ONE great episode that makes it better than an amazing show that's been running for 5 seasons.... not even comparable. TCW stomps in quality, quantity, and consistent quality
@GGrievous And lots of people defend Ep. II, but I don't go around pretending it's Rick McCallum's fanon just because I don't like it.
I'm not going to name-drop LACWAC users who like Ep. II, but there are quite a few of them. I love TCW and you don't, but whether or not someone hates Filoni doesn't alter the fact that George Lucas is in charge, and if GL's in charge it's not DF's fanon.
Can anyone explain to me why so many people posting messages on this thread are pro-Tartakovsky and the TCW series by Filoni has received more votes than the Tartakovsky series? => fraud => someone is manipulating the voting system!!!! => we need to re-start the voting system
Why is it so hard to believe people actually prefer the Micro series? Yeah GG! I agree with kenobifan and better than anyone know how feel about TCW...
