Interesting, Im not sure what system I'm currently saving up for at this moment, although Im going to wait a few months on my decision for after the PS3 comes out so both systems will have the bugs and kinks worked out.

    Nothing will happen.

The difference in visuals between the three systems will be minimal.

    Just like this generation.

Same here, even though the new MGS game looks really good, I still want to wait.

Actually the Revolution will be graphically inferior to the PS3 and 360. Just think of Gamecube 2.0 with slightly better graphics, ability to play NES/SNES/N64 tiles, and a unique controller and thats the Revolution.

The Xbox is more like a 1.5

    Doesn;t mean much really.

For one, we don;t even know the exact specs.

I mean, the PS2 was the inferior system. But it held its own. Hell, even Dreamcast held its own and it was the inferior of all four. There were tons of DC games that looked better than PS2 and GC games.

This is not the jump from say, PSX to PS2.

I Could care less which has the best graphics really. It's all about the game content and not the graphics.

If I had to chose I'd get which ever one that has the most games I want to play regardless of graphics power. In reality though I'll adventually get all 3. Just like I did this generation. I just refuse to buy any system at launch. I'll most likely pick up the 360 sometime mid to late spring. Mostly likely after Oblivian is out.

Wasn't Dreamcast more powerful than PS2?

That's why its time to put your dated consoles behind you and embrace the true power of a personal computer.

Arguing over what system is better, because all of them are secondary to a PC's capabilities.

    LMAO.

Don't forget that the graphics of titles improve over the course a single generation's life. For my Gamecube, when i compare Resi 4 and Super Smash Bros Melee, if i didn't know better they'd look like they were from different generations.

Revolution isn't just a Gamecube 2.0, but it is inferior in sheer power to the X-Box 360 and the PS3. The PS3 will be the best console of this generation, but in all fairness, it's Sony's turn.

    N64 > PSX
    X-Box > Gamecube > PS2
    PS3 > X-Box 360 > Revolution

When you look at it like that, things are only coming full circle. Nintendo had their day, Microsoft had their VERY brief day, and now Sony get theirs. Of course, by that Logic, Nintendo will be the most powerful console in the ninth generation. And what with rumours that Microsoft will not release another console after the X-Box 360, that is entirely possible.

Console politics heat up :p ...

Where did you hear the rumor that Microsoft won't be making another console after 360?

I know Playstation has some good games for it...but I have to go with XBOX 360 for future KoTOR releases, Halo, and The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Of course, I'll wait untill I see all 3 of those out before buying a new system. ;)

I love how people are so easily fooled by prerendered graphics. Remember the PS2 demonstrations? Fortunately for Sony, most people don't.

True, I saw what I though was a cilp of Oblivion on an Xbox: But really it was on a super powerful PC with jacked up graphics...

I'm confused. Why do people always bring up KOTOR when talking about the greatness of an X-box. Did I miss the part where it was decided that the PC version doesn't matter?

I spent sooooooo much time on computers. I do the network admin thing..consulting work....on and on. I sit around at home toting around a laptop. My wife is ACTUALLY pleased to see me sitting in front of a console playing a video game because I'm NOT on the computer. ;) It also gives me the "I'm doing something seperate that is much different front working" feel. Whenever possible, I game on the Console. When I can't (e.g. CIV IV) I head to the computer for gaming.

Didn't Nintendo have it in the earlier generations? I wasn't fortuneate enough to be a major gamer during the NES or SNES eras, but if it went:

NES > whatever competition it had
SNES > Genesis (idk, is it?)
    N64 > PSX
    Xbox > GC > PS2
    PS3 > 360 > Rev

wouldn't that mean the next three generations after PS3's dominance would all go to Nintendo?
